Hello neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at our DMAX Alpha G 1600 electric over hydraulic actuator for your disc brakes. Now folks, this is rated at 1600 PSI and it will activate the hydraulic disc system when you apply the brakes in your vehicle. It's gonna reach an amazing 1000 PSI in just 3/16ths of a second. So super, super fast braking. It is made to last and protect key components for everyday reliability.
It's very, very stout. It's got a nice extruded aluminum housing, that's gonna help minimize heat. It also has upgraded gaskets inside and they're isolated and the the sealed fluid tank here inside is gonna eliminate risk of contamination. The cap comes off really simple. It's got the included rubber seal there and everything.
Note, just make sure you remove this cap whenever you're bleeding the brakes for your initial setup. Now it is a very powerful DC motor in here, obviously that's hidden so you can't see it. It is a German made pump and it installs on your trailer frame or maybe in an enclosed compartment somewhere. And it does have a rotating 360 degree brake line fitting here that's included and that'll allow you to mount it in any position. So a very nice feature there as well.
That is a brass fitting and so it's ideal for marine trailers and that kind of stuff. The whole thing meets your DOT specifications. The other side looks pretty much the same except for it doesn't have that rotating valve on it. You get all your wiring here to wire up the motor and the pump. And again, very, very nice made product.
Now keep in mind you will need some other components if you don't already have them that are sold separately to complete your system, you would need an EOH compatible factory or aftermarket brake controller that's just electrical for hydraulic. And then their DOT required battery powered breakaway device, that's for safety in all legality in all states. And you would also need your seven way trailer connector to send the signal to the pump and the brakes and everything. And then of course your nine hardware, wires, connectors, and then your brake lines and brakes and all that as well. Now this does work for a single tandem or triple axle trailers with disc brakes and like I said before, it's got a max output pressure of 1600 PSI. Now as far as some dimensions, overall it's 10 inches, it's about six inches tall, and it's about three and 5/8th inches wide. Now as far as the mounting holes, center to center, we're getting 10 and 7/8 inches by one in 5/8 inches that way, it does work on 12 volts. It needs a minimum of 30 amp circuit to do that. And it draws about at full pressure 18 to 24 amps. And as far as the hydraulic port size, that's gonna be a 3/16th inch inverted flare, which is just your standard brake line fitting. The tank does hold 15.7 ounces and it uses Dot four brake fluid. Now again folks, this is a very nice option, it's a two year warranty. If you're looking for a nice hydraulic or electric over hydraulic actuator rather for your disc brake system, I recommend the DMAX Alpha here in front of me. That's gonna wrap it up. I'm Steven, thanks for watching and stay safe out there while you're driving.
