Yakima HandCuff optional lock for RidgeBack and SwingDaddy bike racks

The Yakima HandCuff is an accessory kit that includes everything you need to add a cable lock to your RidgeBack or SwingDaddy bike rack. And it comes with a second SKS core for your rack's SpeedKnob so that you can make the locks keyed alike.

Custom Lock for Yakima RidgeBack and SwingDaddy Bike Racks

Yakima RidgeBack and SwingDaddy precut slot for HandCuff lock

Your RidgeBack or SwingDaddy bike rack comes from the factory ready to accept the HandCuff mounting panel. Simply remove the flat panel on the rack with the included Allen key and replace it with the HandCuff panel.

Yakima HandCuff stores in upright mast

Once you've removed the panel, simply insert the cable lock and its mounting panel into the slot on your rack. Use the included Allen key to tighten the panel in place.

Yakima HandCuff includes replacement endcap

The HandCuff's lock fits onto the included replacement endcap. The endcap contains a post that accepts the locking mechanism to secure the cable. To install it, just remove an endcap from your rack and replace it with the HandCuff endcap.

Same Key Convenience

Yakima HandCuff includes extra SKS core

The HandCuff also includes an extra SKS lock core that's keyed identically to the cable lock. This extra core makes it possible to swap out the core on your rack's locking SpeedKnob so you only need 1 key to lock your bikes to the rack and the rack to your vehicle.

The bike lock in conjunction with the Yakima bike rack works great--it was easy to install and works perfectly. I love the fact that one key works everything.

Its great I love the integrated locking system and I use it four to five times each week!

Works as advertised

A must for securing the safety of your bikes when they are on the Yakima rack. Well thought out design…plus the ability to have the bike rack and bike lock be keyed alike cuts down on key clusters and confusion. One key for both locking the rack to the hitch and for locking the cable that locks the bike frames to the rack. Delighted to be able to have them keyed alike…I recommend this feature.

I’m very pleased with this item and it’s a great accessory. I am particularly pleased that the lock can match the lack of my Bike rack. I feel like my bike is always secure.

Excellent very happy

by:

The lock came taped to the hitch I also ordered, but I had no idea that it was in there, til I opened the hitch box & unpacked it. That almost caused me to email etrailer to ask where it was. Lock works well, but the last foot does have issues going back into the SwingDaddy, sometimes. Not sure if it’s getting twisted or kinked, but it is very nice that it hides inside the Yakima. Even with that last foot being a small pain, I’d still get it again.

by:

Worked as advertised. Glad to be able to keep my bike secured

by:

Lock took about 10 minutes to put onto my Swing Daddy. The etrailer How-to video was a great help.

The hand cuff cable lock was simple to install and convenient to use. I like the way it stores within my Yakima bike rack, making it one less thing for me to forget or lose!

by:

Yakima swing daddy. Sturdy and easy to assemble. Haven't used it yet, but it looks like it will take anything we throw at it. Bought it use on both F250 and 4-runner.

by:

Wow. I search and search online for the right solution and deal. In the end I tried etrailer for helping conclude my search and buy. The Customer Service Rep was patient and proactive in helping me get all the right combinations of equipment for my needs. Including buying third party accessories elsewhere. In the end I bought everything through them. I was grateful. And man my assembly was cake! Thanks etrailer.com. You all probably the best source for choice and assistance and easy purchase and delivery all combined.

by:

Easy to install. Works as advertised. Definitely necessary if you plan on leaving your bikes on the rack when you’re not around.

by:

Installation was a breeze. And adding the handcuff locking kit couldn't be simpler.

by:

Very nice bike rack, great customer service and was delivered on time.

Perfect and easy to install as advertised !

by:

I would get this... Keeps the honest man honest!!! I like mine and it was easy to install. Reading the directions and installing probably took 1/2 hour. If I had to do it again, ten minutes.

by:

They provided the correct parts the first time as opposed to others who just don't get it right. Great customer service and great following up after the sale.

by:

Easy to install. Works well with the product. Not as secure a lock as I would have hoped, but should suffice as a deterrent for most short-term purposes

by:

Great product! It was very easy to install! Even for this 64 year old woman! Worth the money for sure! Great peace of mind when we have to leave the bikes on the car while we shop, eat, etc!

  • Will The Yakima RidgeBack 2 Bike Rack Fit My 2019 Mazda CX-9 And Allow Access To The Rear Hatch
Yes, if your 2019 Mazda CX9 has a 1-1/4" or 2" hitch receiver, you should be able attach the Yakima RidgeBack 2 Bike Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting, part # Y02457, to your vehicle. This hitch bike rack has three cradles to secure your bike during transport. It has an anti-rattle mechanism to reduce movement between the hitch receiver and the hitch bike rack. This rack can also be locked to your vehicle. When the rack is not in use you can fold down its arms and reduce how far the...

  • Recommended 4 Bike Hitch Mounted Rack for 2018 Chevy Traverse
I'm happy to assist with a bike rack and one of the first things to consider is where the center of the hitch pin hole is in relation to the outermost part of your vehicle bumper to ensure there is enough clearance. I see that you asked this question from the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # CU29FR which is a confirmed fit for your 2018 Chevy Traverse. Based on this fit, we will be safe and assume you need 6 inches of clearance for that bumper cover that can be reinstalled when the hitch...

  • Best Front Mount Hitch For 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500 For Carrying Bike Rack
Excellent question, and you're right that bike racks experience tremendous bounce at the rear of a trailer, and it would require a specially-rated bike rack (of which there are few), so a front-mount hitch on your 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500 is a great idea, with the best hitch being the EcoHitch you asked about due to it having the best ground clearance. The correct part number for your truck is the following: - EcoHitch Hidden Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH57FR For a bike rack,...

If so, that's what I'd recommend you do. Your other option would be to install a receiver hitch like part # 13268 and use the hitch as an attachment point for a hitch mounted bike rack like the Hollywood Racks Commuter, part # HR2500. Instead you will need to go with the Curt # 13707 which is designed for your vehicle and will be perfect for carrying two bikes with a bike rack thanks to the 400lb tongue weight rating of this hitch. • Is the Yakima HandCuff Cable Lock Really Effective?
The idea behind the Yakima HandCuff Cable Lock for RidgeBack and SwingDaddy Bike Racks # Y02466 is to deter the theft of your bikes, not to completely eliminate the threat. It might be tempting for someone who is walking by your bike rack to steal it, but they might abandon that feeling when they see the cable lock. Unfortunately, if a thief wanted to steal anything, there is really no absolute deterrent from the crime occurring.

  • Hitch and 4-Bike Rack Recommendation for 2018 Subaru Outback
The factory 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch on your 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon can only carry up to 2 bikes at a time due to it's lower weight capacity so you'll have to replace it with an aftermarket 2 inch hitch if you want to be able to carry up to 4 bikes. For that the Draw Tite hitch part # 76227 is the winner. This is a 2 inch hitch with plenty of capacity that will work great. It also has a concealed crosstube too which means it won't be quite as visible either. Unlike the Curt hitch that...
