Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this OptiMate 3 Smart Battery Charger. This is an AC to DC charger that's going to plug into your standard 120 volt wall outlet in your garage or storage area that's going to allow you to automatically charge, test, and maintain four 12 volt batteries simultaneously. This is gonna provide a maximum charging amperage of 0.8 amps per battery. This will work with a variety of lead-acid batteries, thanks to the multiple battery profiles settings that we have here, so whether your batteries are flooded, AGM, or gel batteries, this will work with them as long as they are between 3 to 40 amp hours. So this is gonna be perfect for your motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles, personal watercraft, lawnmowers, and other equipment, very easy to just get everything charged up while it's in your garage being stored.
This does have a 7-step charging algorithm that is going to analyze each battery's condition, so it can automatically charge and maintain without overcharging the battery. It's got a built-in battery desulfator that's going to help restore lost battery capacity that will test automatically and indicate if there's a battery problem. It's got a low voltage detection rating of two volts, so if your batteries getting really low, it will let you know that. It does have a simple operation, you can see each battery system does have these LED lights that indicate the charging status, and let you know if there's any issues. This is a nice durable weatherproof case that can be mounted on your wall.
You can see it's got these little holes here that are pre-installed, so that you can put a nail or a screw through there to get this mounted on the wall. The cable that's gonna be plugged into your wall outlet is six feet long, so you'll have plenty of distance there to run that along your wall to get situated, and then each of these cable's going out to your different batteries. All four of them are also six feet long with the SAE connectors on the ends there, so very easy to space it out, so that you can get all four of your applications lined up and charging at the same time. As far as getting connected to your batteries, you've got two different options for each battery, so you've got your 20 inch battery clamps here. This 20 inch cable is going to allow you to temporarily and easily connect to your battery posts, a red and black, so very easy to plug this into the SAE connector, and then hook that on, so if you're doing something more temporary, short term, you can use these.
If you're wanting to do a more permanent or long-term installation, you've got these eyelets here, so again, a 20 inch long cable that allows you to more permanently connect to the posts. This can be zip-tied to your vehicle with the slits that are on the side there, so you can zip-tie that in place, have that connected, so then you can just open that up, get that connected anytime you bring your vehicle or a motorcycle, whatever you're using, bring it into the garage, just get it plugged in, it'll be charging up for you, and then this does have the waterproof seal and cap that allows you to close that up, keep out any dirt and water while you're using it, and then be ready to plug it back in. It does also have a 15 amp fuse, it's gonna help protect electronics from potential short circuits. So you are going to get four of these, and four of these, and you've got two options for each of these battery chargers. So if you want to have these permanently installed on those snowmobiles or lawnmowers, whatever, you're gonna be charging those frequently, and then you can have these ready to plug in.
If you have other applications that are gonna be less frequently used, you got a lot of options here with these four battery ports. So really nice option if you are wanting to keep your lead-acid batteries charged up, this is gonna do a good job for you. We do have other options available here at etrailer.com, if you don't need all four of those, if you're looking for some other slightly different options, we do have lots of other brands and manufacturers available here at etrailer.com, so be sure to check those out if you're not satisfied with this. That's going to complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..
