Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Westin replacement end cap. Now, this is going to replace either the front end cap on your driver's side running board or the rear end cap on the passenger side running board for your Westin Sure-Grip running boards. Because this is a direct replacement from Westin, you can trust that it is gonna fit right in place of that original end cap. No worries about compatibility issues or anything like that. Now, this is is going to have a black molded plastic construction with these brass fittings to get it held in place.
Now, this does not include the mounting hardware that you're gonna need. If you can't reuse the original Phillips head screws for your end cap, or for your running boards, you can just pick up a number eight 18 by 0.5 inch Phillips head screw to hold this in place there from your local hardware store or something along those lines. So if you are needing to replace either that front end cap on the driver's side board or the rear end cap on your passenger side board for your Westin Sure-Grip running boards, this is gonna be exactly what you need. While not an exact match to the originals, these endcaps have worked well on my horse trailer running boards. They provide a safe, tough bumper so that my horses don’t cut themselves on the running board ends. The bumpers have held up well in the weather.

I got the end cap just fine however, it would not fit as i had hoped. I bought the running boards from a friend and think they came off a 2007 toyota tacoma missing passenger rear end cap. the running boards has no identification so i had to search the web and guess. I found yours and decided it was worth a gamble to order one. I am putting them on my 2001 tacoma. Both trucks are extra cab not 4 door. Thanks for sending it and I may keep searching.

- How to Install the Replacement Endcap for Westin Sure-Grip Running Boards Part # 80-0221In order to install the Replacement Endcap for Westin Sure-Grip Running Boards part # 80-0221 on the Westin Sure-Grip Running Boards w/ Custom Installation Kit part # 27-6115-1445 for your 2003 Acura MDX you will want to remove the entire step from the vehicle while leaving the brackets attached. Once you do this you can then slide the end cap onto the step while lining up the grooves and reinstall using the pre-drilled holes which I have pointed out for you in the attached photo.
