Replace (1) M8 x 45mm carriage bolt for your Thule Doubletrack platform bike rack (TH990 and TH990XT) with this direct replacement.This is not the right diameter carriage bolt for a Doubletrack wheel tray. Doesn't fit in the tray, much less with the nut.

The bolt is an M8. Pretty sure the nut takes an M6. The bolt doesn’t even fit in the tray it came with. Maybe it’s designed for a different application but it was recommended as an add on when I ordered the wheel tray so I assumed that’s what it was for.

I reached out to Thule who advised that you would need part # 853-3506, part # 853-0446, and part # TH04852. I have sent this over to our customer service team and they should be reaching out to you.
hard to find item worked great on repair of competitors bike rake, which allowed for the installing of three racks on a SUV
While I LOVE etrailer.com for carrying the random parts we desperately need, this is the WRONG carriage bolt for the Thule Doubletrack. I believe the carriage bolt needed is Item # 915-0880-11.
This one is too wide, too short, i.e. doesn't fit in the barrel nut for the lever...
It is a metric sized carriage bolt, i.e. not carried by your average hardware store...

These carriage bolts are for the Double Track however the carriage bolt that will work for the lever is part 915-0660-31. [It is no longer available on site]
Someone was successful in stealing key parts /straps off my rack. I contacted Thule directly for replacement parts, unfortunately the parts I needed were not available for individual sale on their site. I would have to replace the entire assembly. They directed me to etrailer.
The etrailer representative was courteous and knowledgeable. Parts came RIGHT AWAY.
While this is a perfect replacement for the thule piece I had that rusted out ( after about 10 years) . I've found that this one has started to rust out in just a year.
It is the ONLY replacement I've found, and at a great price, so it works great.
If need be , I'll be buying all new ones next year.
( as you can see the other parts are rusting as well,,, but same goes.. only replacement I could find.. so I'll buy those in a year also )
Bought replacement parts for Thule rack. Very reasonable prices and knowledgeable sales people. Great customer service. I had some mix up on parts needed and they were very helpful. Have used this company a few times.

You mentioned that it was not a fit for your Doubletrack. I wanted to see if you could send a picture if the location of where you are installing the bolt. I also wanted to see if you know how old your Doubletrack is?
