This is Jeff at etrailer.com.Today we're going to take a look at this replacement gear for the Lippert single and double electric coach step.Now, this part'll replace the gear that came standard on your electric Lippert coach step or the Stromberg Carlson sliding step. This is for use on single or double steps only. Basically this gear will connect the motor and the double ball joint, so that your step can properly extend and retract.Now the hardware to install this is not included. We do sell that bolt separately. It goes right through here.
That bolt needed is part number LC128969, again, that bolt's sold separate on our website, and it's usually listed on this product page as a related product.But that should do it for the review on the replacement gear for the Lippert single and double electric coach step..

Steps work great now.

Today I will be using the new gear, spacers & parts to repair our ‘Coach net’ electronic step
This is exactly what I needed. My old 'gear' has lost "four of its teeth" during a recent bout with the road. Consequently, the steps would not close properly - or fully - , and I couldn't drive down the road with the steps hanging down.
Replacement is not all that difficult IF you take pictures of the existing unit beforehand. lol

Gear works great! The quality and craftsmanship of the gear is excellent. I keep it lubed every 5 or 6 months just to keep it going as smoothly as the day I installed it.
Needed to replace the gear plate for the automatic steps on our motorhome. eTrailer had the best price and delivery. Installed it and the steps have been working properly for the last year.
The first gear that I ordered was not what I ordered and I returned it. The correct gear was immediately shipped to me. The gear was well packaged.

The step works as it should just like new. The old gear stripped because the shaft it rotated on froze because there is no way to lubricate it without taking it apart.

It is still working great and should for years to come.
I had 4 teeth stripped on this gear, preventing my steps from closing all the way. I Ordered the gear from e-trailer, it shipped the next day. Arrived on time and was the exact replacement part. It was very easy to swap out. Steps are back working properly.
I recently had to replace the gear on my Newmar Kountry star motorhome electric steps because a few of the teeth were missing. I found etrailer on the internet and ordered the gear. It arrived in a few days and was a perfect fit. Thanks for the excellent service.

How did you remove the old gear plate?? Mine seems to froze in place. Lippert info says may need heat, or grinding weld on top end of bolt .. Any advise would be appreciated.
I have not installed the gear yet but hopefully the install will get my power step working again
