Ellen: Hey everybody, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're going to take a quick look at the replacement disc brake caliper mount for your Kodiak disc brakes. Now this is a direct replacement part from Kodiak to get you rolling again, and it is just going to be the one mount. So basically you'd want to use this in those instances where maybe just the mount has gone bad, or maybe it got damaged somewhere in shipping, or something like that. But if everything else is working fine, or it's in pretty good condition, you can go ahead and replace it.It's probably a good idea though, that if you have some wear and tear on the rest of the system to maybe get the complete kit, and you can find that here at etrailer.com, we've got a lot of options as far as disc brakes and everything else. But as far as this part, let's jump in and take a closer look to make sure that it is the right fit for your application.So this is going to be our piece. It does not come with any mounting hardware, so it's just that mounting bracket.

It's nice heavy duty duct tile iron construction, and it has the e-coat finish, so it's going to give you really nice protection from any kind of corrosion. You can use this for freshwater or saltwater use, so it can be used on a Marine trailer no problem, and you shouldn't have any issues there. As you can see all the surfaces are coded very nicely, so it should give you that good performance for years to come. Does have embossed bolt holes, so it gives better thread contact for those caliper guide bolts and makes a nice secure connection between the bracket and the caliper.As far as the support side here, that's going to help to make sure that the load is carried by the bracket instead of the bolts. So you're not putting all that weight onto the bolts holding it, it's being supported by this heavy duty iron construction.

Should work for either the left or right-hand side assembly, so if you want to replace both brackets for either side of your axle, you can get two of these guys and do that at once, just to make sure that everything wears at the same pace. You can use this for calipers on disc brakes with one piece hub and rotor assemblies. It's rated for axles at 10,000 to 12,000 pounds, and works with Dexter or Lippert axles. It works with a 11.35 inch diameter rotor, and it works for a seven bolt brake flange configuration.It is covered by a three-year warranty, and that's pretty much all there is to it for our look at the replacement mounting bracket for your Kodiak disc brake caliper.
