Extensive Testing
InfiniteRule products undergo extensive third-party testing to determine shear strength. The shear strength is determined by placing the locking pin in a stress position and subjecting it to increasing force until a required proof load (maximum force received without deformity) is met or the pin fails. These locks have a shear strength of 42,000 lbs.
Installation
The 3 locking pins included with this set are interchangeable. Use one pin as a hitch lock to secure your Gen-Y 10K or 16K adjustable ball mount to your 2-1/2" hitch. A second pin is used to secure your ball mount platform to the ball mount, and the remaining pin is used to secure your pintle hook or other accessory to your ball mount platform.

Today, we're going to take a look at the InfiniteRule Stainless Steel Lock Set for the GEN-Y 10,000 pound and 16,000 pound adjustable ball mounts for two and a half inch hitches. Now, these are flush-style locking pins that'll replace the standard pins on your GEN-Y 10,000 pound or 16,000 pound adjustable ball mount. Basically, you have three pins here. You use one of them to secure the ball mount to your two and a half inch trailer hitch, use the second pin to secure the ball mount platform to the ball mount, and then use the additional pin to secure your pin-to-hook or other accessory to your ball mount platform. These are a heavy-duty, rust-resistant, stainless steel construction. You can see on the head right here, it has three grooves, which makes it very easy to grab the head of it when you remove it. Even works if you have gloves on, gives you something to hold onto.
Now on the inside here, they have an O-ring which will protect the internal components from dirt and grime. In a minute here, I'm going to show you how to unlock this lock and I'll show you where that O-ring is.If you notice on the outside, it has the rubber weather-resistant tethered dust cover, helps keep water and debris out of the key ways. All three of these pins, the lock cores are keyed alike, does come with three keys. They are made in the USA. And now I want to show you how to remove the lock to install it.
So you just put your key in and you twist it like you're unlocking a bolt. And you just twist it and the head will come off just like that. You can see there's the grooves that allow you to hold on.And then on the inside, we had mentioned here's that red O-ring, which will seal, keep any dirt or grime from getting to the inside. And then when you go to install this, you run this through what you're going to lock, put the head on it, and then twist that key again and tighten it down like you're tightening a bolt. And once it gets tight, now, one of the things I do want to show you on these locks, a nice feature, we'll zoom in.
And if you look on the face, there's four marks and they're all about quarter of a turn apart. So at the 12 o'clock, three o'clock, six o'clock, and nine o'clock position, which to get your key out, you just have to have it lined up with one of those marks. So when you tighten this down, if go you past the mark, you can't get to the next mark, just back it off to the mark there, and the key'll pop right out. Simple as that. Now, the application for these is the GEN-Y 10,000 pound and 16,000 pound adjustable ball mounts for two and a half inch hitches. The sheer strength on these locks is 42,000 pounds and the sheer strength is determined by then placing the locking pin in a stress position and they subject it to increasing force until the required load is met or the pin fails.
And again, each one of these locks has a sheer strength of 42,000 pounds.A few dimensions on this. They're all three the same size. The diameter is five eighths of an inch. Overall length, one end to the very other is five and three quarter inches. And then the inside pin length of the span is right at three and one eighth inches. But that should do it for the review on the InfiniteRule Stainless Steel Lock Set for the GEN-Y 10,000 pound and 16,000 pound adjustable ball mounts for two and a half inch hitches..

Keyed alike.Easy to use, hoping that they do not rust since they will be used around salt water. I appreciate having one key for all 3 locks.
The lock has been extremely sturdy and performs very well. Locking mechanism also works well after a year and hasn't bound up due to exposure to the weather and elements.
Excellent
