Hi, everyone, Aidan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at these ladder brackets for your Front Runner platform racks, designed to work with their Front Runner Telescoping Ladders. But I see no reason why this shouldn't work with other telescoping ladders. Really, what these are, are a pair of brackets that will bolt on to your Slimline II platform rack, and just give you a little bit of extra security for your ladder, making sure that it doesn't slide around side to side as we're climbing up on it and using it. So really, all we're working with here is just some U-shaped brackets that bolt into the top channel of your Slimline II platform rack. That's why it's designed to work with the Slimline II specifically, is because it does rely on those top channels.
Whereas the Slimsport rack from Front Runner doesn't have those side channels, so this rack, it wouldn't work. And that being said, this is going to not be your only option. There's one that's going to be a bit of a longer bracket that will still work with the Slimline right here, but it's also designed to work with the Slimsport and some of the other Front Runner racks. So if you have the need for that on your other platform racks, you can check out that other bracket. Or that one will just give you additional clearance, because we are sitting pretty close to the side of our vehicle today.
We're not making contact anywhere, but if we maybe wanted to run this off the back of our 4Runner, or if we had a vehicle where the platform just sat differently, then that's something that we would need. Either way though, it makes it feel a lot more stable going up. I do wish there's maybe something controlling the front to back motion, maybe just like a small strap that would run around here, but then you're adding size to the bracket. As far as the side to side goes, it's going to be really solid, and I don't feel like I'm gonna be shifting around as I'm climbing up here to reach the top of my platform or maybe climb up here if I needed to climb on top and do some photography or get to a tent or something. But if you've got a telescoping ladder and you're looking for a somewhat safer way to get up to the top of your Front Runner platform, then I think this is a great option.
The brackets are gonna offer a lot of security, just making sure that this doesn't shift around on you, so that you can climb up to the top of your platform safely. Thanks for watching.
