Today we're going to be taking a look at an A-frame trailer coupler for a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball. This A-frame coupler is going to let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. It is a weld on installation. It's going to provide a connection point right here for your hitch ball. It's going to feature a gross weight capacity of 15,000 pounds, with a maximum towing weight capacity of 2,250 pounds. It's got the squeeze latch mechanism that's going to allow for safe and easy coupling and uncoupling. In order to connect to your hitch ball, you want to remove the safety pin that it comes with.

It's going to be connected with a nice little safety chain so you don't have to worry about misplacing that or losing that. Then what you would do is you would squeeze these two pieces together. This is basically just like a grit bar. It allows you to get some leverage. Squeeze this down.

Lift it up until it snaps into position. It's going to hold itself in the open position. This would allow you connect it to your 2-5/16 inch hitch ball. When you're ready to secure it, squeeze them back together. They're going to come back down back to that set position and then you would reinsert the pin.

Secure it with the clip on the other side. Very nice design, very easy to use, and very easy to operate. Now the coupler itself is made from a steel construction. It's going to feature a really nice black powder coat finish on it. It's going to do a great job at resisting rusting and corrosion. It's going to have the built in jack attachment point.

That's going to allow for quick and easy mounting of the square utility jack. The area back here for your utility jack is going to measure 2-1/4 by 2-1/4. That's the size of the opening, and it's going to have the three pre-drilled, pre-threaded mount holes for your square jack. Now when it comes to the overall dimensions, starting with the overall length measuring from very back to very front, this is going to give us a measurement of, it's going to be about 17-1/2 inches, right around that area. The overall width, we're going to take a look at the measurement from outside edge to outside edge. That's going to measure about 10-5/8 of an inch. Inside edge to inside edge is going to measure about 10-1/8 inch wide. That's from this point right here to this point right here. Now the pin that's included with the coupler, it can be replaced for a locking pin or a coupler lock. The diameter of that pin hole is going to measure 5/16 of an inch. Then the minimum span needed, or the usable pin length on a coupler lock would need to be 1-1/4 inch.
