Equal-i-zer 4-Point Sway Control Weight Distribution System Review- Video

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the equalizer weight distribution hitch with built-in sway control. If you're unsure about what a weight distribution hitch is, it simply uses physics with having tension here in our bars to take that tongue weight that's normally pressed down on a vehicle and just kinda springs that back up, and that's gonna translate to a less squatting vehicle with less rays in the front, which translates to not only a higher weight capacity when towing, but also better turning, better stopping, and just overall less wear on the vehicle as you're going down the road. The way that it works, it evenly distributes the weight over the axles of the towed vehicle and the trailer, it's gonna give you stability and control while doing that. Then it's really just gonna make a level ride for not only the towed vehicle but also the trailer. And also with the integrated four point sway control, it limits the side to side movement. So if you ever have a trailer that's kind of swaying back and forth, the friction on the steel on steel contact where the bar's made on the L bracket is going to eliminate that or significantly reduce that, which is really nice. more

Whenever you're towing a camper with a Honda Odyssey, typically what you're gonna see is you'll have an extreme amount of tongue weight, or even with a Honda Odyssey, a little bit of tongue weight is going to be enough to sag the back end of the Honda Odyssey because the suspension is soft. And when you're putting that amount of weight on the rear end, it's going to make driving the Honda Odyssey very, very uncomfortable. You'll see a lot of sway behind the trailer or with the trailer behind. That's what the problem was with this particular trailer. more

This is gonna be an electronic sway control device that essentially is going to be installed in line with your 7-pole on your trailer with brakes. Essentially what it's designed to do is if you've ever been traveling down the road and you start to get a little bit of sway and you wanna reach for your manual override on your brake controller to straighten your load out, that's what this is designed to do, but it's going to catch it before you'll even know that it started. Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2019 Ford F-150, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution with the 4-Point Sway Control. Reese Dual Cam II Weight Distribution System Review- Video

Hey guys, coming with the Etrailer. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the Reese Dual Cam II Weight Distribution hitch. Well if you're towing your trailer or maybe you're picking up a brand new trailer and you're noticing that your truck really just can't handle it, you're getting quite a bit of sag. Maybe your front axle starting to lift up a little bit and you're just not getting that traction or that breaking power that you normally have without all that weight on the back of your truck, that's where a weight distribution hitch like our Reese Dual Cam II, is gonna be the solution for you. Our cam brackets easily just clamp on using some bolts and nuts. So you don't have to worry about drilling into your frame which can take quite a bit of time, trying to drill through this thick metal. more

So if you're not familiar with what a weight distribution system is or does, basically speaking, it's going to distribute the weight of your trailer across all the axles of your tow vehicle and your trailer, so it's gonna level your whole setup out to give you more stability and control. So rather than having all of your trailer's tongue weight pushing down on that one connection point of your coupler and hitch ball, which can oftentimes cause your tow vehicle to squat at the rear end, putting a lot of strain on your rear suspension system, causing your tires to wear unevenly, can bring your front end up, causing your steering to be pretty light and your headlights to be shining into the eyes of oncoming traffic, this system is going to help level that all out so you don't have to experience those issues. Most weight distribution systems are going to function on the same basic principles. They're gonna use spring bars that are under tension that give you that lift that you need to get everything leveled out. more

Customer Review - Curt MV Weight Distribution System- Video

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're actually at Ozark International Raceway, if you can't tell by the sights and sounds behind us, and I'm here with John. And, we walked past John's tow set up, he's also got his STI over there that he's been tracking, and we saw that he has a Curt weight distribution hitch. And, for those of you that may not know what that means, we're actually supporting to the frame of the trailer with your trunnions and that's gonna kinda take that load up, and it's really just using physics to kind of beef up your towing capacity on the vehicle. And John, tell me about it. Yeah, it's towed awesome from day one. I had it on my 2015 F250 and it really needed it there, with the F450, I don't need it so much, but I still use it every time I tow this trailer, whether it's just to run up to town with it, or 500 miles, like I just did. more
