Ellen: Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here @etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a quick look at the Kat's Heaters Custom Diesel Engine Frost Plug. So by having one of these in place, it's a very handy thing to have in cold areas where it has really, really low temperatures, because typically when you go to start your engine, it doesn't even want to start. It can also cause some damage if you start it during really cold temperatures because the lubricant inside there is not really moving around yet. So by being able to heat it up before we start the engine, it gets everything lubricated, it gets everything moving a little bit easier, and helps to extend the life of your engine overall.So let's take a closer look at it and make sure that this is going to be the right fit for you. It is going to fit into a 120 AC plug, so it's just your typical wall outlet at your house and we'll have about six feet of cord. That's going to connect into our actual frost plug. more

Really handy in those winter months when our diesel engines can have some trouble starting, especially if they've been sitting idle for a long time, or if you're in really extreme cold temperatures. This helps to get everything moving again, get the oil and get everything lubricated or loosened up with a bit of heat.Let's take a closer look at it and make sure that it's going to be the right fit for you. This is a custom fit so it will work with the Cummins M11 style engine, it's going to have the heating element here and then our plate to attach to that engine.It doesn't come with any hardware, but you can reuse the hardware from your engine block to put that in place. more

Does use a 12 volt two speed motor, and it is controlled right down here on the base by this built in toggle switch. Today we're going to take a look at the Kats heater 750 watt lower radiator hose heater for two and a quarter inch diameter hose.Now, this lower radiator hose heater will preheat your radiator in cold temperatures by heating the coolant and circulating warm cooling. Keeps the hoses from freezing, assists with smoother start-ups and it'll allow your cab to heat up and defrost faster. Does use the thermo-siphon design to ensure that the warm coolant will continue to circulate. Has an internal thermostat, which will automatically shut the heater off at 175 degrees Fahrenheit to prevent overheating so it allows for safe operation overnight. It has a nice die-cast zync casing, which has impact, corrosion-resistant, and it protects the immersed heating element right here, you can see. It does come with this five foot long cord. more

Basically, you can see if you just loosen this nut right here, then you can unplug the power cord just like that. Now, the power cord you can route through your grille and then you just plug it into a standard 120 volt AC outlet.
