Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the best vehicle suspension enhancements for your 2006 Dodge Ram pickup. Here we're going to have four different representatives of the different styles of suspension enhancements that are available for our pickup. Over here we're going to have the jounce style spring style. Right here we're going to have the air spring style, and then our overload pads, and then finally our leaf spring style. Each one of these is going to help out with the sagging in the back end, and help support that heavy load, but each one of them is going to work a little bit different, so let's go ahead and take a look at some of the differences.Our jounce spring style helper springs are going to work and they're going to replace our factory jounce stop, and what they're going to do is, is they're provide that extra support by giving us this little bit larger space than normal, and it's going to go in between the axle and the frame. Now when we apply a heavy load, it's going to put pressure on it, and the spring is actually going to become stiffer as the pressure is applied. more

Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Rear Air Helper Springs Installation - 2006 Dodge Ram Pickup- Video
Today on our 2006 Dodge Ram we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with Internal Jounce Bumpers. These are for the rear axles. Part number is AL88257. We want to start by taking a couple of measurements inside of our front and rear fender well here. This is going to give us our factory ride height, so we'll know right where we want to get back to after our installation. It looks like we've got about thirty eight and half here at the rear. We're about thirty six and three quarter here in the front. more

Air Lift Ride Control Air Helper Springs Installation - 2006 Dodge Ram Pickup- Video
Today on our 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 we'll be installing the Air Lift Load Controller II Compressor System for Air Helper Springs, part number AL25592. We'll be adding this to a previously installed air bag system, part number AL57295, the LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs. We'll go over operation of our new Air Lift Compressor system. To air up the system we're going to go ahead and turn on the ignition. Now, the pressure switch will automatically kick on the compressor to bring it up to the minimum pressure. Pushing the toggle switch in the UP position will trigger the compressor and increase the air pressure in the air bags. more

Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Spings Installation - 2006 Dodge Ram Pickup- Video
Today on our 2006 Dodge RAM pick-up 2500, we'll be installing the AIR LIFT, LoadLifter 5000 air helper spring, part#AL57295. To begin our install, we're first going to go ahead measure our suspension height with the vehicle unloaded and the manufacturer's current suspension system. From the wheel well edge down to the ground, we have 41-1/4 inches with no weight. We're going to go ahead and add approximately 2500 pounds to the bed of our pickup. With our weight in the bed, you can see it's caused the rear to sag and we've lowered the suspension about 3-1/4 inches, to 38 inches from the wheel well down to the ground. With this added weight, we're going to drive it through our test course. We'll go through the slalom course with the added weight. You'll notice the excessive body roll and there is also a lack of steering handling and feel with the added weight. more

Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs Installation - 2006 Dodge Ram Pickup- Video
All right today on a 2006 Dodge Ram Pickup 2500 Series Megacab, were going to install part number F2299. This is the Firestone Ride Rite Air Helper Springs. Were going to begin by showing you how the air springs perform on our truck. Now our original ride height is about 42 1/4 inches. Okay, let's go ahead and put the weight in the back of our truck. It should be around 1500 pounds. more
