Hi everyone, it's Eve Angeline here, at etrailer, and today we'll be taking a look at our Saris Bones EX 2 Bike trunk mounted bike rack, right here on our 2011 Ford Fusion. So, you have your Ford Fusion, and you wanna take your bikes out. Now, while I usually recommend if you can, get a hitch mounted bike rack, while if you don't yet have a hitch on your Ford Fusion or you can't get one, that's where your trunk mounted bike rack like this comes in handy. And since you have a spoiler, or if you have a spoiler on your sedan, you are gonna have a very limited selection of bike racks that can sit around them. So, it's really nice to see that the Saris Bones EX 2 is compatible. So, this is the Saris Bones EX 2, we can also get this as E 3. more

The anti-sway cradle does fold up and out of the way to make loading and unloading bikes much easier. It will grip your bike at three points. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2011 Ford Fusion, we're gonna be test fitting the Yakama FullBack Two Bike Rack for trunk mounts, part number Y02634. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some features here. Starting at the ends of the arms here, on the one end, we will have the bottle opener which is pretty standard for most Yakama bike racks. On the other end here, we'll have an integrated cable lock which you pull out, wrap around the front most bike, and then attach it to this point here, and lock it into place. Therefore, both of your bikes are gonna be secured to the rack once they're installed.The cradles are stationary but they do have this super cush material, the frame of your bike is gonna be resting on so to ensure that there's not gonna be any scratch to your frame once it's being installed. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2011 Ford Fusion, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima HalfBack 2 Bike Rack for Trunk Mounts, part number Y02636. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and show off some of the features here.Starting at the ends of the arms, we're going to have the patented Yakima bottle openers on either end. The cradles themselves are stationary, but they do have this SuperCush material to help protect your bike's frame once it's being installed, and make sure that it doesn't get any scratches on it once you're installing it and transporting it.These do also have anti-sway cradles back here, which you can push up out of the way while loading and unloading, which is going to make it 10 times easier as opposed to having to shuffle the bike back and forth to get it into place. It does grip your bike by three points. We'll have two ZipStrips up at the top of the frame, and then one off to the side, which again is that anti-sway cradle to help keep the bike from moving too far back and forth and causing bike-to-bike contact.Let's go ahead and take the bike off. more

Today on this 2011 Ford Fusion, we're going to be testing the Thule Gateway XT2 Bike Rack, part number TC9006XT. As you can see, we already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike actually attaches to the rack, you're going to have three points of contact with your bikes frame. We're going to have two straps up at the top and one off to the side. That's going to serve as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth possibly hitting either the bike rack or the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. With the bike off I'm going to go ahead and give you a quick measurement. more

Let's go and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How this bike actually attaches to the rack, we're going to have 3 points of contact with the bike's frame. We're going to have 2 straps up at the top here and 1 off to the side here. That's going serve as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth possibly hitting the bike rack, the trunk, or the bikes in front of it. Also, we have an integrated cable lock here at the front. more

Thule Raceway Platform Trunk Bike Rack Review - 2011 Ford Fusion

Today, on our 2011 Ford Fusion, we'll be test-fitting the Thule Raceway Platform Style 2-Bike Carrier, part number TH9003. Now, to begin our test-fit, we've already gone ahead and set the bike rack up according to the guide found within the instructions of the Raceway. We'll place it on top of our deck lid and take the two top hooks and hook it to the deck lid just behind the rear window. We'll then snug the cables down using the grey knobs on either side. We can then take the bottom cables and hook it to the deck lid just above the rear bumper cover and again snug them down with the grey knobs. Once we have all four cables in place and snug, we can go ahead and tighten it down securing the bike rack to the vehicle. more

Today, on our 2011 Ford Fusion, we'll be test-fitting the Thule Raceway 2-Bike Carrier, part number TH9001. To begin, we've already set up our bike rack according to the guide found within the instructions of the Raceway. We'll place it on top of our deck lid. We'll take the two top straps and hook them to the deck lid just behind the rear window. We'll then snug them down. With the two top straps in, we'll move to the two bottom straps where we'll hook them to the deck lid just above the rear bumper cover. more

Thule Gateway Trunk Mount Bike Rack Review - 2011 Ford Fusion

Today, on our 2011 Ford Fusion, we'll be test-fitting the Thule Gateway 2-Bike Carrier, part number TH9006XT. To begin our test-fit we've already gone ahead and set our bike rack up according to the guide found within the instructions of the Gateway. We'll place it on top of our deck lid and take the nylon straps and hook them to the deck lid just behind the rear window. We'll then just snug them down to hold the bike rack in place. We can then take the side and bottom strap and hook it to the side of the deck lid as well as the bottom just above the rear bumper. We'll do that on both sides, but we'll go ahead and snug them down as well. more
