Yakima Trunk Bike Racks Review - 2015 Dodge Dart- Video

Today on this 2015 Dodge Dart we're going to be test fitting the Yakima HalfBack 2 bike rack. Part number Y02636. We already have a bike installed. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike is installed, we're going to have 3 points of contact with the bike's frame. We're going to have 2 zip strips up on the top here, and then 1 off to the side here, which is going to serve as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack where the bike's in front of it. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. To do that, there is tabs on either side of the zip strips. You just push those in at the same time and lift them out. more

Today on this 2015 Dodge Dart we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima fullback 2 bike rack, part number Y02634. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike actually attaches to the rack, you're going to have 3 points of contact with the bike's frame. We're going to have 2 zip strips up at the top here and then 1 off to the side here. Which, is going to act as and anti sway strap to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth possibly hitting the bike rack or the bike's in front of it. Also, at the front we have this integrated cable lock, which you'll wrap around the bike in the front and attach it to this point here for some additional security. more

Hollywood Racks Expedition Trunk Bike Racks Review - 2015 Dodge Dart- Video

Today, on our 2015 Dodge Dart, we're doing a test fit of the Hollywood Racks Expedition 2 Trunk-Mounted Bike Rack. That part number is HRF6-2. Now, we already have our bike loaded up. We're first going to show you how we secure that down. Then, we'll go over some features of the rack. We have two cradles in place with three straps. Two on our frame and then one as our anti-sway strap here in the back. We're going to pull down and lift up to release our strap. Once we have those straps removed, we can remove our bike and set it off to the side. With our bike out of the way, I always suggest that you replace your straps, so you don't lose or damage any of them. Once again, they may be a little difficult to replace since the bike rack is new. As you work with it a little more, it will get easier. Now, let's take a few measurements. Our first one is going to be our overall distance added to the back of our vehicle with our arms hanging out. more

We already have our bike loaded up, we're first going to show you how we secure it down, and then we'll go over some features of the rack itself. Here we have two cradles holding our bike in place with three straps, two on our frame and then one as our anti-sway strap in the back. To release those, we're going to pull down and lift up. With those out of the way, we can pull our bike off and set it off to the side. With our bike unloaded, I always suggest that you replace your straps so you don't lose or damage any of them. Now, we already have our bike loaded up we're first going to show you how we secure that down then we'll go over some features of the rack itself. Here we have two cradles holding our bike into place with three straps, two on our frame, and one as our anti-sway strap. We also have this extra strap here that is connected to our bike rack that you can use as a stabilization strap as well and to also secure both if you have two bikes, so you can secure those together. We're just going to pull down and lift up on our strap here. more
