And today, we have these Titan Chain 42 inch long safety chains with the clevis grab hook, and we'll take a look at how it fits as well as how it installs right here at etrailer.com. These are medium-duty safety chains, which are very important for if you want to tow safely. Now, for our kayak trailer here, which has a maximum load capacity of 3,500 pounds, these are a little bit overkill, but the concept is still the same. Make sure to use these whenever you tow, so that way, if anything happens, you know you're safe. These chains can be purchased in a quantity of one, but if you want to attach the end to your trailer and then hook onto your vehicle, you will need to get another chain in order to get your full set. more

Titan Chain 60" Long Safety Chain with 7/16" S-Hook Review- Video
Hey, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we have the Titan Chain Safety Chain. This is gonna be a single chain that is 60 inches long and you have your two S-hooks at the end. You're gonna have a diameter of 7/16 of an inch for the S-hooks and then your chains are gonna be 1/4 inch in diameter. The most important thing is to make sure that your safety chains fit both your trailer and your towing vehicle. So that's where those measurements come in handy for the lengths as well as the S-hooks because there you can determine if you have the right bolts in your trailer to fit through that length, diameter and if this length works for you. Now, this is used as a single chain, so it's about 2 1/2 feet from the trailer to the vehicle. more

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today we're gonna take a quick look at this safety chain. Now as you probably know, safety chains are required in most states and they act as a backup if your trailer becomes disconnected from your tow vehicle. Now you can use this 60 inch long chain with an additional chain for a complete setup, or cut it in half and turn this chain into two safety chains. Now this chain does have a weight capacity of 5,000 pounds. The S hooks on the end will connect to a safety chain loop on your vehicle and to a secure point on your trailer. If you decide to cut this one in half, you could use a Weldon bracket or a bolt to secure the end loop here to your trailer tongue. more

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install these safety chains for your Gen-Y gooseneck. This is gonna be a 3/8 inch diameter chain and it's going to be 84 inches long. It's gonna be one section of chain with two clevis hook ends, and it's designed to work with your Gen-Y gooseneck, because the chain just feeds through the cross-shaped holes that are already existing on your pin box here, and there's no need to break out the torque wrench. It's got a 26,000 pound weight capacity and it's going to be a Grade 70 chain. Just like any other safety chain out there, it's gonna be that backup connection between your trailer and your vehicle in case there is an emergency disconnect, you still have this holding it in place. more

Today, we're gonna take a look at the Tow Ready 44 inch long Safety Chain Kit with the clevis hooks for your Reese Goose Box Coupler, it has a 16,000 pound weight capacity, and as you can see, it's for quantity of two chains. Now, these safety chains, these will help ensure safe towing of your trailer with your Reese Goose Box Coupler adapter. The safety chains themselves will act as a backup if your trailer happens to become disconnected from your tow vehicle, and these chains are required by law in most states. Basically, you'll attach this end link of the zinc-coated steel chain to the mounting lug on your gooseneck coupler using this included hardware. Now this safety chain will simply connect to your trailer and then connect to your tow vehicle. It is designed so that you can cross the safety chain under the coupler so in the event that the trailer disconnects from the towed vehicle, the safety chains act as a backup connection point and so you can pull over and resolve the issue.This one measures 48" long so you may need two but for some applications one safety chain might do the trick. You could just bolt it onto a secure point underneath the trailer coupler.
