Now, this trailer hub assembly is gonna fit your 9,000 and 10,000 pound general duty trailer axles that are manufactured after April of 2013, and the bolt pattern is 8 on 6.5 inches. The wheel stud is five eighths of an inch by 18, and the hub diam, the hub pilot rather, is 4.75 inches. This does feature a durable cast iron construction and it has an e-coat finish, which is going to protect this hub from rust and corrosion. Now, this does include the races. more

Has the Maxx coating on it and it's for the 3,500 pound axles. Now, this is a single piece hub and rotor assembly so it makes installation a snap, whether you're retrofitting or switching from drum brakes. They do use a nice machine process which will minimize any runout and warping, and because it's all one piece, the contaminants can't get in between the rotor and the hub. It is a nice balanced unit, provides a nice smooth ride. more

It does come pre-greased with Dexter grease, and with the bearings and the seal already assembled. So, this is ready to install right out of the box. more

This is going to fit your trailer's 3,500 pound capacity idler axle with the number 84 spindles. The wheel studs here are half-inch diameter by one and a quarter inch long. And you can see we do have the five on four and a half inch bolt pattern. So this will work for your 13 inch to 15 inch wheels. more

Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly Installation- Video
Hey guys, Kevin with etrailer and today we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Dexter's line of pre-greased hub and drum assemblies. So today our neighbor wanted to add on electric brakes. We've already gone ahead and put on our electric brake assembly but now we need to replace our idler hub with a hub and drum so that our brakes have something to actually press against and slow down the wheel. To do that we do need to know a couple of things. Number one, we're gonna need to know the capacity of our axle. So if you get under your trailer, you can look for that axle tag and find out exactly what that capacity is or if yours are kind of rusted away like ours are today, you can get down there with a set of calipers and measure the diameter of the axle and that'll kind of fall into a certain grouping for each size for the capacity. more

The drum assembly here is gonna be made out of a nice sturdy iron construction. It's goin' to come with your grease seal, your races and your bearings, as well as the lug nuts included and your dust cap. The only thing about this is that it's not pre-greased, so you will have to get your hands dirty and grease up your bearings. As far as insulation goes, this is super simple. It is just messy. more
