Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller Review- Video
Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be checking out the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Trailer Brake controller, which comes included with the universal wiring harness. When it comes to picking out a brake controller, you know, there's a lot of a model on the market and trying to figure out what one is gonna work best for you can get a little overwhelming, you know, and we do a lot of these trailer brake controllers here and from my experience I found that the Liberty is one of my favorites for a few different reasons we'll get into in a minute. But you know, this is gonna work in a lot of situations for a lot of your general purpose, kind of all around towing needs. If you plan on pulling a trailer around that has electric brakes or even over electric hydraulic brakes, that's where a trailer brake controller like the Liberty is gonna come into play, right Whenever you hit the brakes in your vehicle, it'll apply the trailer's brakes and bring you to a more predictable and safe stop. And compared to a lot of the other ones out there, one of my favorite things about the Liberty is gonna be the appearance or how it looks. more

Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2022 Toyota Tundra- Video
How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller on our 2022 Toyota Tundra. Adding a brake controller to your vehicle is gonna allow you to have additional safety and control of your trailer. And adding a wireless device like the Curt Echo is gonna allow you to have that control without having to manually wire anything into the system. The traditional box-style brake controller, you know, has the nickname knee-knocker 'cause they're usually mounted in that position where it would interfere with where your leg clearance is. Alternatively, we have some that are gonna be minimally invasive, like the REDARC where it's just a knob on your dash, but that installation does require a little bit more and it is permanent. So if you have multiple trailers or trucks or you have a leased truck where you can't make those permanent changes, the Curt Echo is gonna be a great option to allow you to have brakes on your trailer and control it using your Bluetooth device. more

But before we get into that, let's just take a minute, we'll check this one out and make sure it's gonna be the right setup for you. Here's what the brake controller can look like installed in your Jeep and honestly I think it's a pretty good fit. Our neighbor today has a Subaru Outback, and they tow a trailer that does have brakes on it. And so to keep that trailer from pushing the Subaru around on the road, having a brake controller is going to be key. And when it comes to brake controllers predominantly, you probably think of something that mounts up underneath the dash, and that you can hit your knees on, and in trucks, those work out fine, 'cause generally, the dash is a little bit higher. Tekonsha is a well-known brand when it comes to brake controllers as well as any tow wire and for good reason. It's a great brand and the Prodigy P3 is just more proof of that. This is a really nice brake controller that has a digital screen that you can see a lot of different things and it's really easy to use. You have your manual override in a nice easy position here and it allows you to really modulate this as necessary. Where other ones, it's really just a small button. more

Choosing Between Tekonsha Brake Controllers- Video
When it comes to choosing a brake controller, a lot of them are gonna look very much the same. And two of them that I really like are from Tekonsha. We have the Prodigy P2 and the Prodigy P3. So, they look very similar, but they do have quite a few differences and we're hoping to break that down, that way you can decide which one's best for you. Here we have our P3 installed and really it comes down to it has more bells and whistles than the P2, otherwise it's pretty much the same controller. The P3 does have a nicer/easier to use display. more

Hi everyone. Aiden here with Etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and be showing you how to install the Redarc Tow Pro Liberty Brake Controller on our 2018 Toyota Highlander. So this is going to be a proportional brake controller capable of towing a trailer or applying brakes on one to two axles. This is gonna be one of the most low profile systems out there because the only thing you see is this dial. You've got a manual override here that you can push the button in to apply the brakes or if you lightly touch the brakes in your Highlander, it'll lightly apply the brakes in your trailer and vice versa if you slam on them. more

Now this is gonna be a really easy way if you don't have a factory brake controller, to add one to your Ram so you can start towing a trailer with brakes. Let's check it out. Now the way this works is the brake controller will plug into your seven pole, and the trailer will plug into the end of the brake controller, and then this will pair up using Bluetooth to the app on your phone where you can control settings and have your manual override. more
