EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Installation - 2022 Toyota Highlander- Video
Hey, everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today, on our 2022 Toyota Highlander, we're gonna be showing you how to install the EcoHitch trailer hitch receiver. But before we get into that, let me just take a minute, check this out, and make sure it's gonna be right for you. Putting a hitch on a Highlander makes sense, you know, these are awesome vehicles and very capable so, having something back here is gonna allow you to do a lot of different things, you know Whether you're trying to pull a trailer around, or use accessories, or a little bit of both. Regardless, this one will get the job done. One of my favorite things about it is the way it's gonna look, all right So it's gonna be completely hidden for the most part, you're really only gonna be able to see the receiver tube opening, and there's some other hitches that are really similar in terms of appearance, one small thing that kind of sets this one apart, is it's gonna have a little bit higher capacities, so it's gonna be able to handle a little bit more weight. more

Right off the bat, I do wanna address one of the big questions that we get asked in regards to these Highlanders and putting a trailer hitch on them and that's if the hands-free lift gate assist is going to work. So, first and foremost, probably one of the biggest questions that we get asked is if the hitch is going to interfere with the hands-free liftgate assist. So, for those of you that have the models where you can kick your foot underneath there and the hatch open up. But before we do that, why don't we check it out and make sure that this is gonna work for you. I do wanna address some of the big questions we get asked quite a bit, and that's if the trailer hitch is gonna interfere with your hands free liftgate assist feature, and the answer is no it's still going to work. Really all you're gonna have to do is kick your foot to either side of it. And it might take a little bit of practice to kind of find that sweet spot. more
