So here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed. The cross tube is going to sit right below the bumper but the one thing I really like about the etrailer hitches is that it has that carbide almost a flat black finish to it. more

Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2014 Toyota Highlander

Rob: Hey everybody. Rob here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the Curt Class III Custom-Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver on our 2014 Toyota Highlander. Now, I really like the way this hitch looks mainly because the cross tube is completely hidden behind the bumper. So the only thing we're really going to be seeing is the receiver tube sticking out. Now, I don't know about you, but I really don't want a big bar hanging down below my Highlander, taking you away and distracting from the looks. So I just think it has this really clean, almost factory appearance to it. Now it is a Class III Hitch, which means it's going to give us that two-inch by two-inch receiver tube opening and have the widest variety when it comes to accessories that we can mount. more

Here on the bottom we're going to have the CURT, part number 13200.One of the noticeable differences between these four hitches is this Draw-Tite here is going to have more of a square or rectangle-style crosstube, where our other three are going to have a round tube. Now this could make a difference on how it looks on the back of the vehicle. Now as far as our safety chain hookups, our etrailer hitch, our top Draw-Tite, and the lower CURT are going to have plate-style safety chain hookups. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2014 Toyota Highlander - Curt- Video

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2014 Toyota Highlander - Curt

Today on our 2014 Toyota Highlander, we'll be installing the Curt Class 3 2 inch trailer hitch receiver, part number C13200. You can see we have a nice, factory-like appearance where it tucks up nicely underneath the bumper cover. You don't have very much hanging down at all. The back of the 2 inch receiver almost fits flush with the rear bumper, so when you are walking behind the back of the vehicle to load cargo into the hatch, you don't have to worry about knocking your knee or your shin into it and suffering the pain of that. We have a nice plate here, bolted underneath our receiver and the frame of our hitch, so we can hook our safety chains up to. Nice large openings there too, so we will be able to get large diameter hooks through there to secure our trailer safety chains. We have a high gloss black powder coated finish here. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2014 Toyota Highlander - Draw-Tite- Video

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2014 Toyota Highlander - Draw-Tite

Today on our 2014 Toyota Highlander well be installing the Draw-Tite Max-E loader trailer hitch with a 2 inch receiver part number 75896. With our Draw-Tite receiver hitch installed on the back of our Toyota Highlander you can see we have this nice round tubular frame that sits right underneath the back bumper. It doesn't stick out very far. You dont have a lot hanging down, and it gives you a nice clean factory like appearance. We have our standard 2 by 2 opening here to insert your ball mount, bike carrier, or your cargo carrier, or what other hitch mounted accessory you may have. We also have this nice angular plate here, welded to the bottom of our hitch, to hook on our safety chains from our trailer. Unlike a lot of receivers, this has a fairly large opening here. If you had a large hook, like those to your sinker chain, youll be able to hook it up nice and easily. more
