Today on our 2013 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the etrailer class three custom fit trailer hitch receiver.So here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed. The cross tube is going to be visible, it's going to sit right below our bumper. But what I really like about this hitch is the fact that it does have that carbide flat black look, so it blends in nicely at the bottom.Our hitch is a class three hitch, which means it's going to give us that two inch by two inch receiver tube opening, so we'll have a really wide variety of options when it comes to accessories that we can mount up. The way we're going to mount any of those is through the hitch pin hole here on the side. Our hitch is going to accept a standard 5/8 pin and clip. Now while these are not included in the kit, you can pick them up here at etrailer.com along with some locking devices to keep your accessories secure.As far as the safety chain connection points go, it's going to be a plate style welded to the bottom, and as you can see, we'll have plenty of room to get most sized hooks on or off.As far as weight capacity goes, our hitch is going to have a 750 pound tongue weight, which is the maximum downward force to the receiver tube, along with a 5,000 gross trailer weight rating. more

Best 2013 Toyota Highlander Hitch Options- Video
Today on our 2013 Toyota Highlander, we'll be looking at the most popular hitch options available. Starting with a CURT class 3 here on the top, part number 13534. Then we have a draw-tite class three, here in the middle, part number 75726. Then we have another draw-tite class 3 here on the bottom, part number 75586. As you can see, all of our hitches have a very similar design. The CURT and the draw-tite here in the middle, they both slide over our muffler on the passenger side of the vehicle, whereas the draw-tite here on the bottom goes underneath it. more

Today on our 2013 Toyota Highlander, we'll be installing hidden hitch, part number 87615. Before we begin our install, here's what the hitch looks like when it's installed on the vehicle. We'll next give you some measurements that will help you in selecting accessories, such as a ball mount, bike rack or cargo carrier. Center of the hitch pin hole is even with the outer most edge of the rear bumper. From the top of the receiver tube to the ground will be 13 and 3 quarter inches. Now we'll go ahead with our install. To begin our install, we'll first need to remove the lower body panels on each side. To remove each body panel, there are multiple fasteners. more
