Speaker 1: Today on our 2006 Toyota Highlander we'll be having a look at our best hitch options. We have two hitches here today. They are both Class 3 hitches. On the top we have the CURT, part number 13530. On the bottom we have the Draw-Tite, part number 75153.The first biggest difference that we found between our two hitches here is in regards to weight capacity. Now while they both have a 350 pound max tongue weight rating and a 3,500 pound max gross trailer weight rating, the Draw-Tite hitch here does not support the use of weight distribution, whereas the CURT hitch does. more

Today, on this 2006 Toyota Highlander, were going to install part number 75153 from Draw Tite. This is what the hitch looks like when its installed on the vehicle. Next, well go ahead and give you some measurements thatll help you out in selecting some accessories such as a ball mount, bicycle rack, or a cargo carrier. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground is going to be 15 inches and from the edge of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper is going to be about 1 1/4 inches.Now, Ill go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed. Our first step is to go ahead and remove the tie down brackets that are located at the bottom of the frame. Then, well go ahead and remove a plug thats protecting the threads further down the frame. more
