All right, this is what the hitch looks like when it's installed on our Subaru. Now first impression is, yes, it does sit entirely below the bumper although it does sit as close as possible to it. Speaker 1: Today on our 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek, we're going to review and install the Draw-Tite Sport Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 24886.This is what the hitch looks like when it's installed on our Subaru. As you can see, you can see the hitch, but it is tucked up as close as possible to the bumper, and it does fit very close to it. At the middle here it does look like it kind of comes down to it, and it kind of matches with the vehicle. First off, this is our inch and a quarter opening right here, which is designed for class one accessories or light duty towing. If you do plan to use this for towing, you want to use a specified draw bar, which is going to be part number 3593.Next up, our hitch does use a half inch diameter hitch pin, or your favorite locking hitch pin. Now when you attach a trailer to it, it does have a nice traditional loop here for your safety chains, which will hook on just like that. more

Today, we're going to be taking a looking at the best hitches available for the 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek. We're going to start with our Draw-Tite Class III. This is part number 76084. It's going to offer the 2" x 2" receiver tube opening. We're going to follow that up with the Curt, also a Class III with the 2" x 2" receiver tube opening. Its part number is C13135. Now, the biggest difference between our two hitches that you're going to notice is that our Curt, you can see it's got the square crosstube on it, going to have a square design. more

InstalaciĆ²n Enganche De-Remolque - 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek - Curt

Hoy en esta Subaru XV Crosstrek 2013, se va a instalar la pieza numero C13135 de Curt. Asi es como luce el enganche (Hitch) ya instalado en nuestra Subaru. Antes que nada primero te daremos algunas medidas que te ayudaran en la seleccion de algunos de los accesorios; tal como.- Un soporte para bola. un porta-bicicletas. O una parrilla carga equipaje. Desde la parte superior de la abertura del receptor al suelo sera de unos 141/4 pulgadas. Desde el orificio del pasador del enganche a la defensa sera de unos 2 3/4 pulgadas. Ahora voy a seguir adelante y mostrar como se instala el enganche (Hitch). Para empezar tenemos 4 tapones de goma que tenemos que eliminar de la parte posterior del chasis, hay una serie de 3 en cada lado, dejar los del centro intactos y quitar los 2 de la parte de afuera. Siguiente tenemos que checar para un posible ajuste en los orificios porque vamos a tener que meter nuetro material de ensamblado (tornilleria) en los orificios. Vamos a tomar una de nuetras placas (blocks) y llevarla hasta uno de los orificios que va hacia la parte delantera del vehiculo, y te daras cuenta que es demasiado pequeno, por lo que se va a tomar una herramienta con una broca y haremos un pequeno corte para que podamos meter nuestra placa (block). Ahora vamos a seguir adelante y mostrar como el resto del material de ensamblado encaja con el enganche (hitch). Insertar tornillo y una placa (block) en los orificios que van mas cerca a la defensa; a continuacion una tuerca de bloqueo. El material de ensamblado que va en la parte delantera llevara un tornillo de 3 pulgadas de largo con una placa (block), luego una placa espaciadora (block) entre el chasis y el enganche (hitch). En la parte trasera del tornillo va una tuerca de bloqueo. Vamos a empezar por instalar nuestros tornillos para el orificio que va mas cerca a la defensa. Bien tomar un cable lider e introducirlo al orificio que se va a utilizar y fuera del orificio mas grande apuntando hacia la parte delantera del vehiculo luego se coloca la placa (block) y empujarlo hacia dentro del chasis. Entonces poner el tornillo en el cable y empujarlo tambien hacia dentro del chasis. Ahora podemos seguir y sacar el cable lider del orificio. Siguiente, podemos tomar nuestro tornillo de 1/2 pulgada y una placa de 3 pulgadas de largo, enrroscar el tornillo al cable lider; en esta ocasion vamos a empujar el tornillo primero y luego empujar nuestra placa; para despues estirar de regreso por el mismo orificio. Vamos a repetir este proceso del lado del pasajero. Ya en esta punto podemos empezar a levantar el enganche a su posicion. Es buena idea tener un par de manos extras para ayudar a sostenerlo mientras hacemos esto. Ahora si, adelante y comenzar con la instalaccion de las turcas en los tornillos mas cercanos a la defensa, y dejarlos lo mas flojos posibles; esto hara que nos sea mas facil instalar los separadores que van entre el enganche y el chasis. Hacer esto lentamente para que asi no empuje el tornillo de regreso hacia el chasis; hacer un lado a la vez. Siguiente necesitamos instalar nuestras tuercas restantes. Con toda la tornilleria floja, podemos proceder a apretar las tuercas, y apretar como se especifica en las instrucciones. Esto completa nuestra instalacion de la pieza numero C13135 de Curt en nuestra Subaru XV Crosstrek 2013. more

Alright, today on this 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek were going to install part number C13135 from Curt. Alright, this is what the hitch looks like once its installed on our Subaru. First off well give you some measurements that will help you out in selecting some accessories such as a ball mount a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be about 14-1/4 inches. From the hitch pinhole to the bumper will be about 2-3/4 inches. Now Ill go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed.To start off our install we have four rubber plugs that we removed from the back of the frame. more
