etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver Installation - 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2017 Subaru Outback and we're gonna be taking a look at, I'm gonna show you how to install the etrailer class three two inch hitch receiver. Now a big reason why you want to add a hitch receiver to the back of your Outback is so that you can haul bike racks or cargo carriers, get a little bit more space outside of the vehicle. The Outback is very difficult if you're trying to fit a bike into the back of it, especially after a long day of riding. You don't wanna put a muddy bike in the back of your car, so you throw that on a bike rack. And with this being a two inch hits receiver, you're gonna have a lot of different options for those bike racks and cargo carriers. more

etrailer Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon

Ryan: Hey everybody. Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the etrailer.com Class Three, two inch Trailer Hitch Receiver. Many of our Subaru customers use their Outbacks to do a little bit of everything, whether it be pulling a trailer, using an accessory like a bike rack or cargo carrier. This is going to give us a connection point to be able to get the job done and not to mention, since we'll have an opportunity to carry our accessory back here, we're going to have space up top freed up that way we're still able to use any rooftop accessories. One of the things I like about this hitch is that it's going to sit back a little bit behind our bumper and it's going to have a carbide matte black finish, so it's really going to blend in nicely on the back of our Subaru. It's also going to give us some really good clearance and so, what I mean by that is the end of the receiver tube is going to be just about even with our back bumper, so this should work out really well for any folding accessories like a bike rack or a cargo carrier for example. more

It's going to have a really nice, clean appearance to it because all we're going to see is that receiver tube sticking out.Our hitch is going to give us a 2" x 2" receiver tube opening, so we're going to have a really wide variety of accessories that we can mount up, anything like a bike rack, cargo carrier or even a ball mount to tow a trailer. The way we're going to mount any of those accessories is through the hitch pin hole here on the side. Now our hitch is going to accept a standard 5/8ths pinning clip. more
