But before we do that, why don't we check it out and make sure that it's going to work for you I know whenever I'm driving down the road I see people using these foresters to do pretty much everything. I've seen them with bike racks on the back, cargo carriers, even doing some towing. Pop-up campers, kayak carriers and things like that. If it we're me and I had a Forester, I think I would want a hitch that would handle pretty much anything I want to throw at it. more

So here's what our hitch is going to look like. It is going to be tucked up behind the bumper, and all we're going to see is that receiver tube sticking out. It is a Class III hitch, which means it's going to give us that two 2" x 2" receiver tube opening, which is going to open up a lot of options for different kinds of accessories we can mount. Now the way we're going to mount all our accessories, is through the forward hitch pin hole here. It is going to accept a standard 5/8" pin and clip. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Subaru Forester - Draw-Tite

Today on our 2017 Subaru Forester we're going to be installing the Draw-Tite class 2 custom fit trailer hitch receiver, part number 36523. This is what our hitch looks like when it's fully installed. As you can see it sits really nice and close to the fascia of the vehicle. Now this hitch is going to use a standard half inch pin and clip, which is not included but you can pick one up on our website using part number PC2. The ring around the receiver tube is for reinforcement so you know you have a strong sturdy hitch. The loop style safety chain loops are big enough to accommodate even larger hooks. Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Subaru Forester - Curt

Today on our 2017 Subaru Forester we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Curt class 3 trailer hitch receiver, part number C13144. Here's what this hitch is going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see it maintains a pretty clean look, but it also looks nice heavy duty and durable. The cross tube is pretty well hidden up underneath. This receiver tube comes out far enough that it'll give us plenty of clearance for our hitch mounted accessories, but it doesn't come out too far to where we may knock our knee on it. Here we've got the standard 5/8 hitch pin hole. We've got the plate style safety chain connection points, and the openings for the safety chain connections are nice and large so even if you have bigger safety chain clips they should still fit in there no problem. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Subaru Forester - Curt C12100- Video

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Subaru Forester - Curt C12100

Today on our 2017 Subaru Forester we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Curt class-2 trailer hitch receiver, part number C12100. What I like about this hitch is that where it comes out to, it's not too far out to where you'll hit it, but it's far enough out to where it's going to give you plenty of clearance with any accessories that you may have in order to put and use. That way they shouldn't get too close to the rear of your vehicle. It gives us a pretty clean look because primarily what you're going to see is the receiver tube here. This receiver tube is a 1 1/4 by 1 1/4-inch receiver tube opening with a nice reinforcement collar around it that gives it a nice heavy duty look. Here we've got the 1/2-inch hitch pin hole. It's got a plate style safety chain connection point and on both sides it's got nice large diameter holes in order to attach your safety chain connections. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Subaru Forester - Draw-Tite 75876- Video

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Subaru Forester - Draw-Tite 75876

Today on our 2017 Subaru Forester we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Draw-Tite Max-Frame class 3 trailer hitch receiver, part number 75876. One of the things I like most about this hitch is the clearance that it gives you, because for any accessories, such as bike racks and cargo carriers, you really shouldn't have any problem with the amount of clearance you have to the rear of the vehicle. As you can see, the most noticeable part is this outside edge of the receiver tube opening, where you're not going see a lot of the crossbar unless you're at a low angle looking underneath. This has got a nice reinforcement collar around the 2-inch x 2-inch opening. It's also got a nice large steel plate with large-diameter holes in order to connect your safety chains to, so you really shouldn't have any problem connecting whatever type of safety chain clips you may have. Then here on the side you can see we've got two holes. We've got the standard 5/8-in hitch pin hole, which is going to be used for mounting all of our class 3 accessories. more
