Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Mazda CX-7 - Curt

Today in our 2008 Mazda CX-7 we'll be having a look at the Curt class 3 receiver hitch part number 13953. Here's what our hitch looks like installed on the back of our Mazda CX-7. You can see there's a very minimal amount showing at all. The entire frame of the hitch is tucked up back underneath the bumper cover. The only thing hanging down is the actual 2 inch receiver itself. Now this class 3 hitch has a 350 pound max tongue weight rating and a 3,500 pound max trailer weight rating. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Mazda CX-7 - Draw-Tite

Today on our 2008 Mazda CX7 we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Draw-Tite Max-Frame class three trailer hitch receiver, part number 75512. Here's what this hitch is going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see, overall it's pretty well hidden. Really what you're just going to see is the receiver tube here, the safety chain connection points, and then over here is the bracket that's welded onto the crosstube that's going to allow you to mount up wiring. It's really nice, because if you're planning on towing a trailer on a regular basis that's going to give you a nice easy access point to be able to get to your wiring and not have to pull it out of your trunk or just have it connected down here. That gives you a good sturdy location so that you can always get to it easily. Now this hitch has a 2" by 2" receiver tube opening and this nice welded-on reinforcement collar around that receiver tube opening. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Mazda CX-7 - Draw-Tite 36419

Today on our 2008 Mazda CX-7, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Draw-Tite Class II Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 36419. Here's what this hitch is going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see, it's pretty well hidden except for the receiver tube and safety chain connection points here. The rest of it is tucked up nicely behind the fascia here. That's going to do a really nice job to help maintain a clean look on the vehicle. Also, if you've got those 1-1/4" accessories already, this will serve really well for that, too. The receiver tube opening has this reinforcement collar that's welded on just to help to give that little bit of extra security and stability. Then here it's got the loop-style safety chain connection point. more
