etrailer Class III Trailer Hitch Installation - 2014 Lexus RX 350

Welcome to etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at and showing you how to install the etrailer Class III trailer hitch receiver here on a 2014 Lexus RX 350. Our trailer hitch receiver today is gonna be an industry standard two inch by two inch receiver opening, which is gonna give you the widest range of accessories to choose from, be it cargo carriers, bike racks, or ball mounts for towing a trailer. The hitch receiver's gonna have an industry standard 5/8 inch hitch pin hole. Now, it does not come with a hitch pin but we have plenty of options here at etrailer.com including some locking ones that I highly recommend checking out if you want to make sure that whatever you put in here stays in here. Our weight capacities for this trailer hitch are gonna be a 4,000 pound gross trailer weight rating which is the weight of your trailer you're towing, and all the accessories or cargo loaded onto it. more

Best 2014 Lexus RX 350 Hitch Options

Today we're going to be taking a look at the best hitch options for your 2014 Lexus RX350. Here we have the CURT, part number C13143. Here we have the Draw-Tite, part number 75676. When these are both installed, they're both going to be hidden up underneath the bumper, and all you're going to see is the receiver tube and the safety chain loops on both our CURT and the Draw-Tite. Now the main difference between these two is going to be the weight capacity. The CURT here has a 600 pound tongue weight and a 4,000 pound trailer weight, whereas the Draw-Tite is going to have a 400 pound tongue weight and a 4,000 pound trailer weight. Now when using a weight distribution system, the CURT is going to still retain that 600 pound tongue weight, but the towing capacity is going to be bumped up to 5,000. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2014 Lexus RX 350 - Draw-Tite

Today on our 2014 Lexus RX350 we're going to be installing the Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver, part number 75676. Now to begin our installation we're going to need to remove this lower appearance panel. Now there's several fasteners that we'll need to remove in order to take it down. We'll be using a 10mm socket on all of the bolts, as well as a larger flat head screwdriver to remove a couple fasteners over on the right hand side that are kind of like the push fasteners but they also thread on, but if you unthread them they will come back off. Now with all of our fasteners removed we can go ahead and pull our appearance panel down and set it aside for now. Now there will be a total of six mounting locations that we'll be using to secure our hitch to the vehicle. There will be three on each side. more
