Best 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Trailer Hitch Options

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the best hitches for the 2007 to 2017 Wrangler Unlimited. Now we've tested all of these hitches on numerous different Jeeps that we have here around the shop, and basically each one of them is going to have strengths and weaknesses depending on what you're going to do with your Jeep.Now later in the video we're going to get into some specifics on each of the hitches, the measurements and things like that. But if you're just interested in knowing which is going to be better for what, we can handle that now and save you some time.Basically, if you're into off-roading, departure angle is usually an issue. That's how steep of an angle on the back of your Jeep you can come off and slide down a hill. If that's a concern, either the Etrailer part number E98835 or the CURT part number 13432, they're going to be best. Basically, the receiver tube opening here on each of the hitches is going to be even with your bumper. more

Today on our 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite Custom Fit Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 76104. Here's what our hitch looks like fully installed. It's going to sit just right below our bumper and all we're going to see is the receiver tube sticking out. It is a class III hitch, which means it's going to give us that 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening, and it does have a nice reinforced collar, giving it a clean look and added strength. Our hitch is going to use a standard 5/8 pin and clip, which is going to be the larger hole toward the front of our vehicle. They're not included, but you can pick one up on our website using part number PC3. Now the secondary hole towards the back of our receiver tube, that's going to be for the J-pin stabilization device, which is great if any of your accessories for your hitch don't have a built-in anti-rattle. As far as safety chain loop, it's going to be a plate style welded on either side of our receiver tube. more

Today on our 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to do a review and in that of the Draw-Tite Class 2 1-1/4" receiver tube hitch, part number 36424. Now here's what our hitch is going to look like once it's installed. As you can see, it's a fully-welded construction with a nice, black powder coated finish. This is our 1-1/4" by 1-1/4" receiver tube in the pre-drilled 1/2" hole on each side. We also have our chain hole down on each side. You'll notice that the receiver tube extends out past the back bumper so that we can accommodate for rear-mounted spare tires. Now this hitch is capable of up to 300 pounds in tongue weight, and 3,500 pound tow capacity. more

Today, on our 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we'll be installing the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver. Class III with a 2" opening. Part number 75515. Now, this is what our new trailer hitch looks like installed on our Wrangler Unlimited. It's made out of nice, heavy duty steel construction with strong welds that connect the front and back plates here with the receiver tube. It has a nice black powder coat finish that's going to resist rust and corrosion. more

Today on our 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited we're going to review and install Hidden Hitch class two 1-1/4" receiver tube hitch, part number 90157. Now here's what our hitch is going to look like once it's installed. As you can see, it's a fully welded construction with a nice black powder-coated finish. This is our 1-1/4" by 1-1/4" receiver tube and the pre-drilled 1/2" hole on each side. We also have our chain hold down on each side. You'll notice that the receiver tube extends out past the back bumper so that we can accommodate for rear-mounted spare tires. more

Today on our 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited we're going to do a review and install of the Curt class 3 two-inch receiver tube hitch, part #9883544. Here's what the hitch will look like once it's installed. As you can see, it's a fully welded construction with a nice black powder-coated finish. One of the really nice features about this hitch is it's sleek and stylish design. The only thing we really have exposed is our receiver tube, our 5/8ths pinhole, it goes all the way through our receiver tube, and our chain hold down on each side. This hitch is capable of up to 350 pounds of tongue weight and 3500 pounds tow capacity. Next I'm going to give you a couple measurements that will assist you with selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost edge of the rear mounted spare tire is 12-1/2 inches and from the top of the receiver tube opening down to the ground is 22-1/2 inches. more
