Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the best trailer hitch options for your 2014 Jeep Patriot. Here on top we're going to have etrailer's hitch, part number E98836. Here in the middle we're going to have our Draw-Tite, part number 75712. Here on the bottom we're going to have the CURT, part number C13081.These three hitches we have here are going to be very, very similar. Today on our 2014 Jeep Patriot, we're going to take a look at, and also show you how to install, the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Custom-Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver. This is a class III hitch, offering the two-inch by two-inch opening. Part number is 75712. Here's what our hitch is going to look like installed. All we're really going to see is that receiver tube opening, the rest of it's going to be hidden up behind that rear fascia, which is really nice. We don't have it sticking out all the way across there. We've got the two-inch by two-inch receiver tube opening. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2014 Jeep Patriot - Draw-Tite 36423- Video
Today we're going to be reviewing and installing the Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver class 2 hitch, part number 36423 for a 2014 Jeep Patriot. Now, this is what the hitch looks like when it's installed on our vehicle, so you can see you've got a reinforcement collar here around the 1 1/4 by 1 1/4-inch receiver tube. You got safety chain loops right here. Cross tube is nice and tucked up behind the fascia here, so all you're seeing is this receiver tube and the safety chain loops. It's a bolt-on, so there's no drilling or welding required. If you'd like to remount the tow hook that may have been originally equipped on the vehicle, you do have drill the tow hook, but not for the hitch. It's got a nice black powder coat that has a e-base layer underneath it to help give superior rust and corrosion protection. Right here it's got the 1/2-inch hitch pin hole, and this hitch features a 300-pound tongue weight rating and a 3,500-pound gross trailer weight rating, and you'll want to be sure to check your vehicle's owner's manual to see what your vehicle is rated for, as far as towing. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the rear-most part of the bumper is 6 inches. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Patriot, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Curt Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver. This is a Class 2, with an inch and a quarter opening, part number is C12057. Here you can see what the Curt Custom Fit Hitch is going to look like. There's very little of the hitch that's actually going to be visible. All your main structure is tucked up here behind, bolts into the side of the frame rails. The instructions look a little more intimidating than it really is to get the hitch installed. more
