Hi, there, Jeep owners. Today on your 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Curt's Class III 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver.This is what your hitch is going to look like when it's installed. You're only going to be able to see the receiver tube, and it's going to be tucked back nicely so it's even underneath of our rear bumper here. This hitch is particularly short for individuals who like to go off-roading and want that extra road clearance because they don't want to mess up their departure angle, and minimizing the length sticking out, you have reduced the amount that your hitch is going to affect that departure angle.You'll want to keep in mind though because of this being shorter for that better departure angle, it's going to be tucked back under the bumper. So you're going to want to purchase a longer shank on some of your accessories, like your bike racks and cargo carriers, because you want to make sure you can clear the bumper and your spare tire in the back. And many of those have an upright storage position that may not be able to be put upright due to the spare tire back here.It's a Class III 2" x 2" receiver, so it is going to be great for all of your towing needs, whether you're using it for a trailer or you're putting a bike rack in the back to bring some bikes to the trail with you. more

Speaker 2: Today on our 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install, the Draw-Tite Class 111 Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 76104.So, here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed on our Jeep. Now the biggest benefit to this one is the fact that the receiver tube is actually going to stick out just a little bit past the bumper itself. It's going to help out with that clearance whenever we put in bike racks or a cargo carrier that will fold up. Pretty much any accessory that's going to fold, it's going to help gain a little bit of clearance from our spare tire. The hitch is going to give us a 2" x 2" receiver tube opening, so we are going to have a really wide variety of options for accessories.The way we're going to mount any of those accessories, the hitch pin hole here on the side, and it is going to accept a standard 5/8" pin and clip. While these are not included in the kit, you can pick them up here, at etrailer.com.Now the secondary hole towards the receiver tube opening here, that's going to be used exclusively for the J-pin stabilization device, which is going to be an anti-rattle device, which is always nice to have, if the accessory you have doesn't have one built in. more

Part number E98856.So, here's what our hitch looks like once we have it installed on our Jeep.Our hitch is going to offer us a 2" by 2" receiver tube opening, which is going to open up a lot of variety of different things that we can mount up.Now, the hitch is going to be pretty well hidden under the bumper but it's also going to stick out far enough to help us out getting those bike racks and cargo carriers in place and not have to worry about interference with our tire; but at the same time, it's close enough to the bumper that if we do go off-roading, it shouldn't have too much effect our departure angle.Now, the way we're going to mount any of the accessories that we have is through the hitch pin hole here on the side. It is going to accept a standard 5" pin and clip and while these aren't included in our kit, you can pick them up here at etrailer.com.If you plan on doing some towing, our safety chain connection points are going to be a plate style and as you can see, we'll have plenty of room to get most size hooks on or off and we're not going to have to worry about any kind of interference from the pin and clip.And our etrailer hitch is going to have a nice matte black carbide finish on it, so it's going to blend in nicely with the rear bumper, as well as protect the hitch from any kind of scratches or rust and corrosion.Now, our hitch is going to have a 350 lb tongue weight, along with a 3,500 lb gross trailer weight rating. It is designed to also work with weight distribution systems, which is going to be a separate component mounted on the trailer but that's going to jump the tongue weight up to 400 lbs and the gross trailer weight rating up to 4,000 lbs. So, with all those numbers in mind, you should always double check your Jeep's owner's manual and never exceed the manufacturers recommended weight.I'd like to give you a few measurements and that'll help you in deciding for accessories for your new hitch, such as a ball mount, a bike rack or even a cargo carrier.From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer edge of the bumper, it's going to be right about 2.5". Now, from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer edge of the tire, it's going to be close to 12". more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the CURT class 3 custom fit trailer hitch receiver, part number 13432.So here's what our hitch is going to look like. It's going to sit behind the bumper and be hidden pretty nice. And since it does sit behind the bumper, that is going to benefit us as far as off-road applications because it's not going to change our departure angle too much because our bumper is going to be further out than the hitch is. Keep in mind, though, with a bike rack or a cargo carrier we are going to be limited because of the clearance that we're going to have to have between our hitch and the spare tire carrier on the outside.It's going to offer us a two inch by two inch receiver tube opening. So we're going to have plenty of options of different kind of accessories that we can mount up.
