Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2011 Ford Edge

Ryan: Hey everybody, my name's Ryan and here at etrailer we install, test fit and review a lot of different parts. That way we can try to answer any questions those of you might have. And that's exactly what we're doing today on our 2011 Ford Edge. We're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt Class II Trailer Hitch Receiver. So there is a lot of different hitches available for the Edge and which one is going to work best for you really just depends on what you plan on doing with it.So in our case, since this one does have the smaller 1-1/4" by 1-1/4" opening, I think this one's going to have the best appearance because it's smaller in size so it blends in a little bit better. And this would be a great choice if you primarily just plan on using your hitch for accessories. With that being said, if you're looking to do a little bit more, maybe some towing, I would recommend a Class III Hitch, like the etrailer.com one. more

Ryan: How's it going, everybody Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today, on our 2011 Ford Edge, we're going to be taking a look and showing you how to install the etrailer.com Class III 2-inch Trailer Hitch Receiver. Many Edge owners plan on using their SUV to do a little bit of everything. Whether you're wanting to put a cargo carrier on the back here to free up some space on the inside, haul around a few bikes, or even do some towing, this is going to be a great all-around versatile hitch to get all those things accomplished. One thing I did notice it is going to give us some pretty good clearance. What I mean by that is a hitch is going to sit just a little bit past the edge of our rear bumper. That's going to work really well for those falling accessories. One of the things that separates etrailer hitch from any of the others is its finish. more

Best 2011 Ford Edge Trailer Hitch Options- Video

Best 2011 Ford Edge Trailer Hitch Options

Hi there, Edge owners. Today on your 2011 Ford Edge, we're going to be taking a look at the best trailer hitch options. On top, we've got our etrailer hitch. Below that we have our hitch from Curt. And down here at the bottom we've got two Draw-Tite hitches. And the reason we have two Draw-Tite hitches is because there are two different types of Edges out there. You could have your Ford Edge, that is just regular, or you could have a Ford Edge that is a sport model. Both the etrailer and the Curt will work with either a Sport or non-sport Ford Edge, but our Draw-Tites down here, this one is designed to work with the non-sport model, and this one is designed to work with the Sport model. So keeping that in mind, moving forward, I would recommend these two, so that way you don't have any confusion when ordering your hitch. more
