This is a class II 1-1/4 by 1-1/4 inch receiver. It's going to be great for cargo carriers, bike racks, and light towing. It uses a 1/2 inch hitch pin and clip. One doesn't come with the hitch but you can pick one up here at etrailer.com with part number F-4.It features hoop style safety chain loops. Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Ford C-Max, we'll be having a look at our best trailer hitch options. We have two options here today as far as hitches go. On the top we have a Draw-Tite, part number 24896. On the bottom here we have a CURT, part number C12092.The biggest difference that we found between our two hitches here today is when it comes to weight capacity. Our Draw-Tite hitch at the top is a Class 1 hitch with a 200 pound max tongue weight rating and a 2,000 pound max gross trailer weight rating. Our CURT hitch here on the bottom is a Class 2 hitch with a 350 pound max tongue weight rating and a 3,500 pound max gross trailer weight rating. Now the reason this weight capacity means something to you is that little bit of extra that the CURT offers mean that's more that you can carry on the back of your vehicle, whether it's an extra bike on your bike rack or an extra cooler full of beverages when you're going camping. The next biggest difference that we found between the hitches was when it comes to appearance. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Ford C-Max - Draw-Tite

Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Ford C-Max, we will be having a look at and installing the Draw-Tite Sportframe Class One Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 24896. Alright, here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you'll notice, the only part of our hitch that's visible on a inaudible 00:00:16 vehicle is the actual receiver opening itself. Now our safety chain loops are rolled tubular steel that's welded onto the bottom of our receiver. What's nice about these safety chain loops is you can hook on at any angle with the hooks off your trailer. These have a fairly large opening, so we shouldn't have much of a problem at all using most safety chain loops on them. more

From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost edge of the bumper is approximately 4-1/2" and from the top of the opening in the receiver to the ground is approximately 11". Now let's go ahead and install our hitch. To begin with we're going to need to go to the driver side rear of the vehicle and go underneath. We'll need to remove two bolts that hold the muffler bracket in place. more
