Today on our 2007 Dodge Ram pickup, we're going to be taking a look at the best hitch options available. The three hitches we'll be taking a look at today are all class five hitches, and they're all going to work with or without your factory hitch installed. First we have the Curt Commercial Duty Hitch with a two and a half by two and a half inch opening, which is part number C15809. Next we have the Curt Extra Duty with a two inch by two inch opening, which is part number C15409. Then finally we have the BMW Heavy Duty Trailer Hitch. It also has a two inch by two inch opening, and it's part number is BWHDRH25211. When it comes to weight rating, the Curt Commercial Duty is going to offer us a maximum gross trailer weight rating of 20,000 pounds, and a maximum tongue weight rating of 2,700 pounds. more

Today on our 2007 Dodge Ram pick-up, we'll be installing the Hidden Hitch trailer hitch receiver, part number 82534. Here's what the hitch looks like installed on our vehicle. Now we'll go ahead and give you a couple measurements, to help you choose some accessories for your hitch, such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pinhole, to the outer most edge of the bumper is approximately 2". Now the receiver does stick approximately a half inch out past the bumper, on this vehicle. From the top of the opening in the receiver to the ground is approximately 18 1/2". Let's go ahead and install our hitch. It's a good idea to get an extra set of hands, to help you raise the hitch up into position. more

From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the bumper is approximately two inches. The receiver does stick approximately a half inch out past the bumper on this vehicle. From the top of the opening in the receiver to the ground is approximately 18.5 inches. more
