Today on our 2006 Dodge Ram pickup we're going to be taking a look at the best hitch options available. The three hitches we'll be taking a look at the today are all Class 5 hitches. They're all going to work with or without your factory hitch installed. First we have the CURT Commercial Duty Hitch with a 2-1/2" by 2-1/2" opening, which is part number C15809. Next we have the CURT Extra Duty with a 2" by 2" opening, which is part number C15409. Then finally we have the B&W Heavy Duty Trailer Hitch. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2006 Dodge Ram Pickup - Draw-Tite- Video
Today on our 2006 Dodge Ram pickup, we're going to review and install the Draw-Tite class III 2-inch receiver tube hitch part number 75420. Now here's what our hitch is going to look like once it's installed. This is a completely steel and fully welded construction of our hitch. It's got a really nice black powder-coated finish so that it'll resist rust and corrosion over time. One of the really nice features about the hitch is we have an electrical bracket that's been pre-welded to the cross tube so we can hook up any trailer or electrical connection. This is our square cross tube so it's got a real sturdy design. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2006 Dodge Ram - Curt- Video
Today on our 2006 Dodge Ram pickup, we'll be installing the Curt Hitch, part number 13333. Next, we'll go ahead and give you a couple measurements to assist you in selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the bumper is 1-3/4". From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is 19-1/2". This will assist you in selecting accessories such as a ball mount, bike rack, or cargo carrier. Trailer Hitch Installation - 2006 Dodge Ram- Video
Today we are going to install part number 75662 from Draw-Tite, and we are going to install this on a 2006 Dodge Ram full-size pickup. First we will show you where the hitch mounts onto the vehicle. It does mount onto the crossbar that is underneath the bumper here basically, like half a hitch is already there. It also is going to tie into the bumper itself. And what is going to happen is this cover for the center ball hole here is going to be actually used by the hitch. What we are going to do is pop this cover off, and we are going to a bolt that goes through here down to the hitch. Let us go ahead and take a look at the bottom of the bumper and give you a better idea of how the hitch is going to mount up. more
