They're all going to work with or without your factory hitch installed. First we have the CURT Commercial Duty Hitch with a 2-1/2" by 2-1/2" opening, which is part number C15809. Trailer Hitch Installation - 2005 Dodge Ram 1500- Video
Today on this 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 we are going to install part number 87530 from Hidden Hitch. This will also apply to part number 75662 from Draw-Tite. This is what the hitch looks like when it is installed on the vehicle. Next we will give you some measurements that will help you out in ing some accessories such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outside edge of the bumper is going to be about 3 inches. From the top of the hitch opening down to the ground is going to be 21-1/2 inches.
