Trailer Hitch Installation - 2013 Dodge Journey - Curt- Video

Today on our 2013 Dodge Journey we're going to take a look at and then show you how to install the CURT custom fit class three 2" trailer hitch receiver, part number C13201. As you can see, our CURT custom fit hitch is going to have a nice look to it. All of our attachment hardware, all of the connections are up here out of the way where we can't see them. We're just going to have the drop bar that comes down and around, tucks back in over here on this same side. No modifications of the vehicle that are really required. As you can see, it's going to go right underneath the spare tire here so we're not going to have to worry about any kind of interference there. The end of the tube is just inside the outer edge of the bumper; it sits in about a 1/4" or so so it's not hanging out so far to where you might hit your leg or bumps might on it, and it's not tucked in so far where it really eliminates a lot of options as far as bike rack's or carriers might be concerned. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2013 Dodge Journey - Curt C12134- Video

Today, we're going to be installing and taking a look at a CURT custom-fit trailer hitch receiver. It's a Class 2 with an inch and a quarter opening. Part number is C12134. Here, you can see the CURT inch and a quarter Class 2 hitch in place. It's going to drop down nicely. It's going to go right underneath your spare tire, as you can see here, so we're not going to have any interference with that. more

Next well go ahead and give you a couple measurements to assist you when selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer most edge of the bumper is 1 inches. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground will be 13 inches. This will assist you when selecting accessories such as a draw bar, a bike rack, or a cargo carrier. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2013 Dodge Journey - Curt 13335- Video

Today on this 2013 Dodge Journey were going to install part number 13335 from Curt. This is what the hitch looks like once its installed on the vehicle. Next well go ahead and give you some measurements that will help you out in selecting some accessories. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper will be about two inches, and from the top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be 14 inches. Now Ill go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed. The first thing we need to do is go ahead and lower our spare tire and get that out of the way. more
