Today on our 2007 Dodge Durango, well be installing Curt Hitch, part number 13072. Now before we being our install, heres what your hitch will look like on the vehicle. Well now go ahead and give you a few measurements to help you when selecting accessories, such as a draw bar, a bike rack or a cargo carrier. Now the center of the hitch pin hole is even with the outermost part of our bumper. From the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 21 inches. Now lets go ahead with our install. Now weve already gone ahead and lowered our spare tire, which is the first step of installing this hitch. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Dodge Durango- Video
Today on this 2007 Dodge Durango we will be installing Curt hitch part number 13296. The first thing we want to do in preparation to installing our hitch is to remove the spare tire to get it out of our way. Looking at the driver side frame rail at the inboard side we have got two attach bolts here and one free bolt here on the forward side. We are going to need to remove the two here at the rear of the vehicle and the third one we are actually just going to remove the nut from the outboard side. We are going to reuse this bolt for our hitch installation and that will be the same for the passenger side as well. For the forward bolt we just want to push it through. You can see they will not fully come out because it is hitting on the body mount here. We want to push it back far enough to where the bolt sits about even with the flange here at the bottom side of the bumper bracket. At the two rear most attaching points we are going to be putting in new bolts along with the flat washer. We just want to slide those through just about the same position as the forward most fastener. 01:00 more
