Trailer Hitch Installation - 2011 Dodge Dakota - Curt

Today on our 2011 Dodge Dakota, we'll be installing and taking a look at the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, class three with a two inch opening, part number 13229. Here's what our Curt Trailer Hitch looks like installed on our Dodge Dakota. Very easy, three bolt installation, and it requires no drilling, using the assisting holes from the factory to install it. It's made from a nice sturdy steel construction, has nice black inaudible 00:00:23 finish that's going to resist rust and corrosion. This is a class three with a two inch by two inch opening and a five inch pinhole. You have easy access to your chain hold downs here when you hook up to your trailer for your safety chains, and this hitch is rated for 500 pounds of tongue weight and 5000 pounds of towing capability. You always want to double check your vehicle's capacity, and use whichever is lower between the vehicle and the hitch. I'll give you some measurements to help choosing some accessories for your new hitch. more

Today on this 2011 Dodge Dakota Crew Cab, we're going to install part number 75251 from Draw-Tite. This is a class III 2" receiver hitch. To start off, we need to get our truck ready to install our hitch. There's two bolts on each side of the frame that have to remove. Here and here, this is the passenger side, and the same two bolts on the driver's side. We'll remove those first. We'll use a 21mm socket to remove these bolts. more
