etrailer.com Trailer Hitch Installation - 2013 Chrysler Town and Country

Today on our 2013 Chrysler Town and Country, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Class III 2" etrailer.com trailer hitch receiver. Now the majority of the hitch is hidden behind the bumper, so the only thing you're going to be able to see is the receiver tube. This is a Class III hitch, so it's going to utilize that 2" by 2" receiver tube opening. It also has a nice, thick, reinforced collar to help with support and also utilizes a standard size 5/8" hitch pin hole. However, it does not come included with a hitch pin, but if you need one, you can pick one up on etrailer.com. Now it has a loop style safety chain opening, which is welded onto the bottom and the holes are large enough to use just about any style or shape safety chain hook that you might have. Now one thing I really like about it is its finish. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2013 Chrysler Town and Country - Curt

Today on our 2013 Chrysler Town & Country we'll be installing the Curt Hitch part number C12264. This is the Curt Class II 1-1/4 inch receiver tube hitch. First we'll need to gain access to the frame and to do that we'll lower the exhaust here on the passenger side. To lower the exhaust on this application we're going to remove the hardware from the hanger that secures it to the frame or body of the vehicle. We'll have one here at the tailpipe, one just in front of the rear axle which should give you enough clearance to get the hitch in. Quick tech tip, if we remove one more hanger, here at the front of the muffler, it'll give you some additional working room between the tailpipe and the frame. more
