Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Chrysler Town and Country - Curt

Today on our 2008 Chrysler Town & Country we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Curt Class II Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number C12264. Here's what our hitch looks like fully installed. It's going to sit up underneath our bumper and all we're going to see is the receiver tube opening. Now, it is a class II, so it's going to give you that inch and 1/4 by inch and 1/4 receiver tube opening, and it has a nice reinforced collar, giving it that nice clean, flush look. Now, our hitch is going to use a standard 1/2 inch pin and clip which is included, so that's a nice benefit of not having to pick anything extra up. Now, the safety chain loops are going to be a rolled steel stock that's welded onto the bottom and as you can see, we're going to have plenty of room to get most sized chains on or off without interfering with anything. Now, our hitch is going to feature a 3,500 pound gross trailer weight rating and a 350 pound tongue weight. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Chrysler Town and Country

Today we are going to be installing part number 87451 on a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country. We are over here on the drivers side frame rail, and there are three attaching points: one there, one there, one there. So we are going to need to remove all three of these bolts. All the hardware for the hitch is actually already in the frame of the vehicle so there is going to be no bolt kit that comes with the hitch. Again, it is this one, this one, and this one that need to be removed. And if we go over here to the passengers side, we are going to have to go ahead and take the exhaust off the hanger to access the passengers side bolts. You can kind of see there is one toward the rear here near the bumper, and then one a little bit more forward, as well. We need to remove those bolts. more
