Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Chrysler 300 - Curt

Today on our 2007 Chrysler 300, we will be installing Curt Hitch, part number C12240. Before we begin our installation, here are a few measurements to help you on selecting accessories such as a bike rack or a cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer most part of the bumper is 7 inches. From the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 12 inches. Now lets go ahead with our install. Before we begin our installation, we will need to lower our exhaust. Well first put a safety strap underneath the vehicle to hold the exhaust while we undo the mounting location. On the two rear most isolators, we can go ahead and undo the bolts holding the isolators to the vehicle. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Chrysler 300

Today on this 2007 Chrysler 300 we are going to be installing Curt hitch part number 13465. We are underneath the vehicle, the first thing we want to do is lower down the exhaust. Depending on your model you may have a single exhaust or a dual exhaust. On this particular vehicle we have a single exhaust. There is a hanger here at the rear side of the exhaust and a second one here at the forward side that we want to remove as well. If we follow forward we need to lower down these two hangers here as well. On the rear hanger some models will have this grounding strap, you want to make sure you take that off as well before you lower the exhaust down. :39 more
