Today on our 2016 BMW X3 we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Curt Class III Two-Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver. The cross bar is going to be completely hidden behind the bumper, so you're only going to be able to see the receiver tube here at the back. It's a class III two-inch by two-inch receiver, so it's going to be great for all of your towing needs. Whether you're hooking up a small trailer or a jet ski trailer for the weekend or you want to put some bike racks on the back, loaded up with bikes and hit the trails.It uses a 5/8 inch hitch pin and clip. Now one does not come included with this hitch, but you can purchase one here at etrailer.com. It features hoop-style safety chain loops and these have a nice large opening that should accommodate just about every shape, size and style of safety chain.It features a 350 pound tongue weight, and that's the force going down on top of the receiver and a 3,500 pound gross towing capacity. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2016 BMW X3 - Curt- Video

Today in our 2016 BMW X3 we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the Curt Custom Fit Class 3 Trailer Receiver. This offers the 2" X 2" receiver tube opening. It's part number is C13107. Here's what our hitch is going to look like installed. As you can see we're still going to keep that really nice rear appearance of the X3, just going to have the receiver tube opening and safety chain connection points are all we're really going to see. You'll see that the hitch is about flush with that lower edge of the bumper. We've got that nice reinforcement collar around the end, kind of gives it a clean look. more
