Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2005 Chevrolet Express Van

Today on this 2005 Chevrolet Express Van, we're going to install part number 90885. This is the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller. To help us with our install, we're also going to use part number ETBC7. We'll work with that part first, then add our brake controller on at the end. First off, we need to install our bracket that comes with the ETBC7 kit onto our bumper here. Personal preference where you want to put it, but I like to have a few inches away from the loops here for your safety chains. I'm just going to mark my holes, and drill out the bumper. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2005 Chevrolet Express Van TK90160

Today on our 2005 Chevrolet Express van, we'll be installing the Tekonsha Primus IQ trailer brake controller for one to three axels. Part number TK90160. To begin with, we'll go ahead and locate the four wires that are part of the factory tow package on this vehicle. You'll see they're right up here underneath the driver side dash, kind of near where the brake pedal is. On our brake controller, we get a short pigtail and it has four different color wires: a black, a red, a white and a blue. We'll go ahead and connect them using some butt connectors, so we'll be tying the blue wire off of our connector that goes in the back of the brake controller to the large blue wire on our factory wiring harness. The black wire off of our brake controller will tie in with the red wire with the white stripe off of our factory wiring harness. more
