Speaker 1: Today, we're going to be taking a look at the best towing mirror options for your 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.Whenever you're towing a trailer, if you're using your factory mirror, we can see our trailer, but whenever we go to change lanes, or want to look behind us, we may have to stick our head out the window, or really turn around to see what's going on, making it unsafe to go down the road.Well, our towing mirrors are going to give us a wider filed of view, making it a lot safer and a lot easier to get down the road.There's three basic types of towing mirrors, and they're each going to have their own individual benefits. So, let's take a closer look.So, we're going to have a universal style towing mirror, a custom fit towing mirror, and a full replacement style towing mirror.First, we have our universal style mirror, which is going to be great for occasional use. Most of them are simply just going to strap onto our existing mirror using some rubber straps. Now, there are some other styles that use a clamp that we can clamp onto our mirror, but it is a universal style, which means that if you tow with a lot of different vehicles in your family, chances are, it might fit that as well.Now, while this is going to serve the purpose, we're going to be able to have a wider field of view, see what's going on behind our truck, it isn't exactly going to match our truck. It is just going to be strapped onto our mirror, so aesthetically, it's not going to look the best. But it is going to get the job done. more

CIPA Dual-View Clip-On Towing Mirror Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're gonna be taking a look at the CIPA Dual View Towing Mirror, part number 11953 and they also come in a pair of two with part number 11953-2.And as you can see here, I'm visible on our factory mirror but as I step towards the outside, I'm no longer visible on our factory mirror, but I can be seen on our universal towing mirrors.This is especially useful when merging onto the highway, changing lanes and during parking maneuvers. Both of the dual view mirrors are fully adjustable, both vertically and horizontally. And while it's installed, you can still adjust your factory mirror.One of the mirrors is flat which is gonna give you a more true distance reading of what's behind you and the other one's convexed for a wider area of view. You remember that convexed mirrors may have objects that are closer than they appear.And the breakaway function will still operate and it won't contact the vehicle. It's held securely to your mirror using the rubber straps and this rubber will prevent any scratches or abrasions on the back side of your mirror.The straps will go on each side of your puddle lamp so it'll still be fully functional. And what I really like about this mirror is how easy it is to install. more

K-Source Universal Dual Lens Towing Mirrors Review - 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 we're going to be taking a look at the K Source dual lens towing mirrors, part number KS3990.So, as you can see here I'm back by the trailer and I can be seen clearly in our factory mirror. But as I step out to the left, I'm no longer visible in the factory mirror, but you can still see me in both of our towing mirrors. This is especially useful when making merges on the highway, lane changes, or during parking maneuvers.Each of the dual mirrors is adjustable, both vertically and horizontally. We can still adjust our factory mirror while it's installed. With the mirror installed, the break away function is still available, and doesn't contact the body. The rubber pads on each strap hold the mirror in place, and also prevent any scratches or abrasions on the back side. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're going to be taking a look at the CIPA Universal Towing Mirrors, part number 7070. These also come in quantity of two with part number 7070-2. Now, as you can see here I'm fully visible in our factory mirror, but as I take a step out to the left, I'm no longer visible in the factory mirror, but I can be seen in our towing mirror. This is especially useful when merging onto the highway, changing lanes, or during parking maneuvers. The mirror is fully adjustable both horizontally and vertically and can be rotated, and while they're installed, you can still adjust your factory mirrors, and the breakaway function of your mirror is still going to be functional without contacting the body.It's held in place with two rubber straps located on the backside of the mirror. The rubber will prevent any scratches or abrasions and are fully adjustable for various size mirrors, and if adjusted properly the straps won't cover up your puddle lamp, so it'll still be fully functional. more

They also come in a pair with part number KS3891-2.As you can see, I'm clearly visible in our factory mirror, but as I take a step towards the outside, I'm no longer visible in our factory mirror, but I can be seen clearly in our universal towing mirror. This is especially useful when merging onto the highway, changing lanes, and during parking maneuvers.This universal towing mirror features a convex shape, which is gonna give it a larger viewing area. It's also fully adjustable, both horizontally and vertically. While it's installed, your factory mirror can still be adjusted.The screw on the back can be removed, allowing the mirror to come out and be rotated horizontally, so you don't have to have it in the upright vertical position. The straps on the back feature thick rubber pads that'll help it stay in place and also prevent any scratches or abrasions on the back side of your mirror. more

Between the two mirrors, the larger one is going to give us an accurate perspective of what's behind us, while the smaller one acts as a spot mirror. It's going to increase safety when changing lanes and passing cars. As we take a few steps towards my trailer, you can see there's no blind spot by the way we have it set up. more

Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 crew cab, we're going to be doing a test fit of the K-Source Universal Clip-On Towing Mirror, part number KS3891. It offers us a wide fuel of view. It's going to allow us to safely and easily change lanes, pass, park, or even back up while towing a trailer or a camper, as you can see, invisible in the towing mirror, but not the factory mirror. If I take a few steps in towards my trailer, as you can see, there's no blind spot by the way we have it set up, but this is the view you get with just your factory mirror. The mirror itself can be adjusted to most angles. We've got our up and down, diagonal, and side-to-side. By removing the Phillips head screw through the back, we can take the mirror out and turn it to the horizontal position for a different view. more

You can pick up the driver side separately with part number CM10951 and for the passenger side separately with part number CM10952. As you can see, it offers us an extended field of view. It's going to allow us to safely and easily change lanes, pass, park, or even back up while towing a trailer or a camper. As you can see, I'm visible in the towing mirror, but not the factory mirror. If I take a few steps in towards my trailer, as you can see, there's no blind spot by the way we have it set up, but this is the view you get with just your factory mirror.
