Today we're going to be taking a look at the Tow Ready forged receiver hitch mounted tow hook. This offers a ten thousand pound weight capacity. The part number on it is TR63044. As you can see this is a solid one piece shank design, very solid, very durable. It is a forged steel construction, has a nice black powder coat finish that's going to stand up to the test of time. The overall length is going to be right at 11 3/4 of an inch. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the inside bend of our hook, you've got about 9" there. more

Curt Off Road Accessories - Tow Hook - Loop - C45500 Review- Video
Today we'll be reviewing part number C45500. This is the Curt Forged Tow Hook from Curt Off Road Accessories. It is designed to fit a 2-inch by 2-inch trailer hitch receiver and when it comes to the capacity of the tow hook it is going to be limited to the capacity of the hitch. If we take a look at the overall measurement, measuring from end-to-end, it's going to give us an overall length of about 11-3/4 inch. It's made from a solid steel construction with a black carbide finish, so it is going to stand up really well against rust and corrosion. If we take a measurement of the gap that we have between the end of hook and the shank portion here, measuring at a straight line going across, that measurement is going to give us a measurement of about 2 inches. That's the opening you're going to have there to get whatever you need to get in there, whether it's a strap or a chain, you got 2 inches to work with in this gap here. Let's take a measurement from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the shank. more

MaxxTow Tow Hook Review - 2013 Dodge Ram- Video
Today on our 2013 Dodge Ram 1500, well be test fitting the MaxxTow Tow Hook for Two Inch Hitches rated at 10,000 pounds, part number MT70028. Now before I begin our test fit, we will first need to obtain the hitch height of our vehicle. This is the measurement from the ground to the inside top of the receiver tube. The hitch height for this vehicle is about 20 inches. Now this measurement may vary due to tire size, hitch style or any other aftermarket accessories. To begin our test fit, well simply slide the shank of the two hook into the opening of the hitch, lineup our pinholes and secure the tow hook to the vehicle with the pin and clip. more
