Hi there, Equinox owners. Today we're going to be taking a look at the best flat tow options for your 2016 Chevrolet Equinox. There's five main components you'll need when flat towing your vehicle behind your motor home. You'll need your tow bar, which is the connection between your motor home and your vehicle, your safety cables, which is a supplemental connection in addition to your tow bar, your baseplate, which provides a connection point at the front of your vehicle, your diode wiring, which takes all the lighting signals from your motor home and transfers them to the lights at the back of your vehicle so people around you know your intentions when going down the road, and lastly your supplemental braking system, which will apply the brakes in your vehicle when you hit the brakes in your motor home to help it come to a safe stop.Our customers decided to use Blue Ox's baseplate, which is a great baseplate. But, however, I would recommend Roadmaster's direct-connect baseplate kit. I find that the Roadmaster baseplate just has a little bit cleaner installation and provides better connection points when mounting your hardware such as your electrical and breakaway switch.Our customer opted for Roadmaster's Falcon 2 tow bar. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Equinox, you're going to be taking a look at and I'm going to show you how to install the roadmaster fusemaster fuse bypass switch for towed vehicles, part number RM-76517. In the Chevy Equinox, you have to remove a fuse when you're towing it. Otherwise you wear down your battery because your key has to be in the ignition, in the on position or accessories on position. This is going to eliminate that. This is going to allow you to have a button that you're just going to push. You put it in tow mode, or drive mode. more

Roadmaster Diode 7 to 6 Wire Coil Kit Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Equinox we are going to be taking a look at and installing the Road Master Diode 7 wire to 6 wire Flexicoil Wiring Kit, part number RM-15267. Here is what this wiring kit is going to look like once it is installed on the vehicle. Here at the front we have got the 6 round connector, it has got a nice spring loaded lid here so that whenever it is not in use, it is held nice and tight so that weather and the elements don't get in there and possible corrode those connections. This does a good job of making sure that these 7 way that is on your RV or motor home is able to get power down to the 6 way. It has got 4 pole wiring that is run from this connector here at the front all the way to the back and splits off in order to go either tail light. It has got diodes that go to both tail light so that the signal from the RV and the signal from the vehicles factory system are kept separate in order to make the function of the lights nice and simple as it goes through the same wire and the same connector. With that diode separating the signals, it protects your vehicles electrical system from the wiring coming from the RV. That way in case anything we're to happen and compromise the wiring coming from the RV, you are not possibly going to damage your vehicles electrical system. Hopkins Tail Light Wiring Kit Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Equinox we'll be installing the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles, part number HM56108. To begin our installation we'll open up our rear hatch here, and we'll start by removing our tail lights. There's two plastic covers here. You'll need to pop these off, just use our trim panel tool for that, and do the same on the other side. This will remove the 10mm screws, here. We'll do the same on the other side. Our screws removed, we'll grab the tail light assembly and pull it out towards us until it releases. We'll unplug the main wiring harness going into it. more

TrailerMate Tail Light Wiring Kit Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Equinox, we going to be taking a look at and installing the TrailerMate Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for towed vehicles, part number TM780072. Here's what your kit's going to consist of. We're going to have the wiring that's going to tee in to both of our taillights, and we're going to have our 4-flat connector with the weatherproof cover. It's going to run from the rear of the vehicle all the way up to the front. It's also going to come with a mounting bracket, if you decide to use to 4-flat design. This jumper harness to go between your vehicle and your coach. more
