Hi there, Cherokee owners. Today in your 2019 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Demco's Stay and Play Duo Supplemental Braking System. Your braking system is one of five main components you'll need when flat towing your vehicle behind your motor home. The braking system will apply the brakes in the vehicle when you hit the brakes in your motor home.But additionally, you'll also need your tow bar, which is the connection between your motor home and your vehicle. You'll need your safety cables, which is an additional supplemental connection between your motor home and your vehicle. You'll need your base plate, which provides a connection point at the front of your vehicle for your tow bar to attach, and you'll need your diode wiring or magnetic lights, which takes all the lighting signals from your motor home and transfers them to the light at the back of the vehicle, so people behind you will know your intentions when going down the road.And this is what our system looks like when it's installed. more

One of the first and most important items is going to be our tow bar here. The tow bar is going to be your attachment that connects your motor home to your vehicle. In addition to your tow bar, you're also going to need safety cables, which is a supplementary attachment between your motor home and your vehicle. Now our Nighthawk here does come with safety cables included with it, and they go on these nice channels underneath, keeping it nice and neat. more

Now the reason you're gonna need a braking system like the Patriot II is that if you're flat towing your Cherokee behind your motor home, you're gonna need a way to help slow the Cherokee down to alleviate some of the wear and tear on your motor home's brakes and also make it a lot safer and quicker for you to stop.In many places, supplemental braking systems are required by law when you're flat towing, and this will take care of both of those requirements.Now, what sets the Patriot II apart from other braking systems out there One, it's not a permanent installation inside your vehicle. So, if you have multiple vehicles that you wanna flat tow, you only need one braking system that you can transfer in between them. You just have to have a separate breakaway switch for each vehicle. Speaker 1: Tody on our 2019 Jeep Cherokee, we're gonna be taking a look at . I'm gonna show you have to install the SMI Air Force One Supplemental Braking System, part number SM99243. The air force one is gonna be one of five main components in a flat tow set up. The other four are gonna be your base plate, your wiring, your tow bar, and your safety cables.The air force one, keep in mind can only be used with RVs that have air brakes. The nice thing about the air force one though, is that it's a truly proportional air system or a truly proportionally braking system, because it's working off the air pressure coming from the RV. Your kit's gonna come with a tank, air lines and T fittings that you attach to your RV's air brake system.One of the great things about the air force on is, once it's installed, it's completely maintenance free. more
