This is gonna be a soft roll-up tonneau cover, and you're mainly gonna have two types, and you're gonna have your hard tonneau covers and your soft tonneau covers. Your hard tonneau cover is gonna be more for security. So if you have anything really important in the back, this would keep those items secured so no one can access them. While the soft tonneau cover like we have today, is just gonna keep things more out of sight and outta mind. more

Now, this will be a great option for anyone who's looking for something that's gonna be relatively pretty low profile, giving you more of a sleek design overall, and it's gonna offer you that extra protection still, since this is a hard cover. Like I just said, this is a pretty tough tonneau cover. (knuckles knocking) As you can hear, it is pretty sturdy. It's gonna have a weight capacity up to 450 pounds, so that's gonna be great if you do need to put some things on top of here, great if maybe you walking by, you need to throw your tool bag up somewhere, you have that option, or your groceries, too. So this option from Bestop is going to be a soft tonneau cover constructed of a vinyl with some aluminum slats in the middle to add support and structure. This is gonna be a pretty basic option and not the best for security because that vinyl material could be cut through with a knife. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Pace Edwards JackRabbit Full-Metal Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover with the Explorer Series Rails on our 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. So, the first thing to note is that this is a retractable canister-style cover, and you'll see that canister in just a second. But the benefits to that (knocks) that hard cover is that it's gonna be a lot more secure. And if you're the type of person that keeps tools or something valuable in your truck bed full time, I always recommend a hard cover because that's gonna be the most theft resistant. Having our tonneau cover on the back of your truck is gonna allow you to get better fuel economy and less wind drag, so it'll help your, you know, gas go a little bit further along. If you're looking for something that's gonna give you higher security, it's a okay option. Nonetheless, anytime you have a fabric, you can cut through it, so that would be a drawback to it. However, it's super lightweight with the aluminum frame where it's easy for one person to remove it and take it off as needed. As far as your quick latches, these are gonna allow you to quickly take down your cover and expose 3/4 of your bed while it's in the folded position. more

Hi, I'm Matt with etrailer, and today we're gonna be talking about a Leer's Tonneau Cover with a Ladder Rack. So let's check out some of its features. So this is gonna be a great option for you of either one of two reasons. The first one is you're using this for recreational uses or you wanna put a tent on top and maybe some of your camping supplies under the tonneau cover because you don't want 'em getting wet, or you wanna use it for work purposes where you can put a longer ladder on top, and then put any supplies underneath the tonneau cover, anything like cement or tools. You've got the roll up and the trifold that'll sit on top of the bed rails, but this one is going to be a canister style and really all that means is it'll roll up to a canister at the front of your bed, meaning that nothing blocks the back window of your tundra. So what really sets this tonneau cover apart from the competition is how it works with the ladder rack. It actually has T channels built in on the side, so you can put your ladder rack right on top of it and you don't have to figure out to work around and get them to work together. And having this tonneau cover that's really easy to use, it's definitely a plus with this, all you have to do is open up your tailgate and flip a lever at the bottom and then push this tonneau cover, and it'll close in on itself. And since this is a canister design, it's not gonna take up a lot of room and you don't have to fold up anything that's gonna block your back window. Now it is gonna take up some space. more

In this video we're gonna talk about how it looks, how it fits, and I'll also show you how it installs into the tracks of your 2023 Toyota Tacoma. So who would be interested in a tonneau cover Well, if you want to protect the cargo inside your truck bed, keep it safe from the elements as well as prying eyes, then a tonneau cover is gonna be a great way to do so. And this being a hard tonneau cover, we have that solid surface helping prevent theft and making sure that everything is nice and secure. This is the quad fold, hard tonneau cover, which means it folds up four times and I have mixed feelings about how it fits on the Tacoma. With the five foot bed, I actually would prefer the Leer tri fold hard tonneau cover, but if I had the six foot bed Tacoma, then the quad fold makes more sense. more

We actually have kind of an angle on our cover that's designed to help deflect water. So this particular cover will not need drain holes or need you to drill any additional holes. One of the great features is it allows you to access your cargo area without having to release your cover. In general, if you have your truck bed locked, you can kind of consider it semi secure. However, you know it's not the same as a trunk, so just kind of keep that in mind as far as security. more

Leer Soft Tonneau Cover Installation - 2023 Toyota Tacoma- Video
How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Leer soft tonneau cover on the 2023 Toyota Tacoma. The Leer soft cover is actually a really good cover if you're not necessarily wanting something that's gonna give you any type of surface to use. One of the cool things about the way that it's designed, the tracks are actually a beveled edge and it's secured using hook and loop. So that's gonna help you get a seal and as well give you a path for your water to drain down. The way that you can release it is actually really cool 'cause you can go from either side using your release clamp here and it activates only using one hand, which is really decent because you may have something in your hand while you're trying to get your cover up. And as far as the way that this guy rolls on the first panel closest to your handle, this latch is gonna help work its basically a structure to keep it rigid and you're gonna have three other aluminum poles in the middle. more

Adding a hard tonneau cover like this is not only gonna give you protection from the elements for everything that you have in your bed, but it's gonna give you that sense of security too because of it being a hard tonneau cover. A lot of times what'll happen is you pick up something in the bed of your truck or you're going on a trip, you've run out of space on the inside of your vehicle and you want to throw stuff back here. But it's not only safe to leave it back there if you have to go into a store or if you get to the resort that you're staying at, you don't wanna have to empty everything out of the bed of your truck just so that it doesn't get stolen. Hi, everyone, Aiden here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the BAK Revolver X2 Hard Tonneau Cover and seeing how it fits and installs on our 2023 GMC Sierra 1500. So first things first. This is a hard cover, which means it's going to be constructed of a series of aluminum slats all linked together to create this hard surface that's gonna offer you the maximum security. Meaning that people can't just walk up with a pocket knife and cut through this to get into your bed. It's gonna be a lot harder, especially when compared to or in conjunction with your locking tailgate. more

Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at, and showing you how to install this Mountain Top EVOm retractable hard tonneau cover on a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Any tonneau cover is gonna offer a couple of different benefits, it's gonna protect all the stuff underneath from the elements a bit, not all tonneau covers are perfect, you might still get some water intrusion, but it's gonna help quite a bit, and I think this one does a great job at it. When it's closed, it'll help our fuel economy by reducing drag, and more important than anything, I think it offers security, what is out of sight is also out of mind, so all of your stuff inside the bed is going to be much safer underneath the tonneau cover, and especially a hardcover, because the soft ones are very easy to just cut through with a knife, whereas this one is constructed of a series of aluminum slats that are interlinked together, so you can't even cut through the seams, everything underneath when paired in conjunction with your locking tailgate is going to be locked up and safe. And one of the things that makes this Mountain Top tonneau cover unique is the t-slot accessory rails that run the length of the bed, so you can mount up crossbars here, and pair other accessories with this. Now, Mountain Top's not the only company that does this, both Retrax and Pace Edwards have options that are very similar to this, and we'll talk about, and compare the options a little bit more going forward, but if you don't have any need for the t-track, then I'd say you can just go with a regular retractable cover, and you don't need to pay for this feature, but personally I think this adds a lot of function, and if you're looking for it, Mountain Top does a great job at integrating it. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with Etrailer. Today, we have a 2023 Chevy Silverado 2500. We're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the BAK Revolver X2 Hard Rolling Tonneau Cover. To show off the best feature of this hard rolling tonneau cover right off the bat, we're gonna roll it back. Thing I like most about it is that once you pull that string or that cable, roll it back to the back cab of your truck, you secure it up here at the back of your truck, It reveals your fifth wheel or your gooseneck or whatever you have in your bed all while safely securing it underneath the hard cover. We have other hard covers available and they're a roll up, but it's a drum style so we'll go inside a drum underneath. more

Today, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install this Pace Edwards Switchblade Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover on our 2022 Chevrolet Colorado. Now a tonneau cover offers a lot of different benefits. I think it gives a much cleaner look to the truck, but functionally it's going to help with a couple things. It's gonna make this a little bit more aerodynamic and help with fuel economy, because we're not creating this large pocket on our tailgate where wind gets caught and creates drag, it'll just go over the top, and we're gonna keep prying eyes away from our stuff. What's inside here in conjunction with the locking tailgate is going to be outta sight, outta mind. more

Hi, everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install this Leer Tri-Fold Hard Tonneau Cover on our 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. So when looking for a tonneau cover, you can separate them into two main categories, the type of cover it is and the material. This one is going to be a hard cover as opposed to a soft cover, which is great because it's going to be a rigid structure, maximum security, so no one can come up with a pocket knife, cut it open and get to your stuff inside. It's gonna be a thick fiberglass reinforced plastic and be able to support a weight capacity of 450 pounds evenly distributed so what that kind of translates to is you've got your hands full of groceries, a cooler, a tool bag, anything like that, you can set it on top of the cover while you walk around and open up your tailgate to get access to open it up so you don't have to set anything on the ground. This can support a little bit of weight. more

Pace Edwards Switchblade Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover Installation - 2020 Ford F-150- Video
Hi, everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Pace Edwards Switchblade Hard Tonneau Cover on our 2020 Ford F-150. This is going to be a canister-style hard tonneau cover, and what that means is once we pinch these levers together to unlock it, it's going to slide along these tracks, back into the canister at the front of the bed. Now, this style of cover is really nice because everything's contained here. It doesn't stuck up very high above the bed rails, if at all, so we're not blocking our back window like we might with a roll-up style or with a trifold style where it'll fully block that back window when it's fully open. And whenever we're ready to use it, we can just grab the pull cord and pull it out, covering the bed very easily. more
