Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains with Cams Installation - 2022 Toyota RAV4 TC2219CAM- Video

How's it going, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install these Titan Chain twist links snow tire chains with the cams on our 2022 Toyota RAV4. First thing to point out is that these chains do have a ladder pattern which is gonna help you a lot with starting and stopping but not so much coverage on turns. The links themselves are a twist link, so they do wrap around each other, which gives you a good amount of bite and some light snow and maybe light ice but it's gonna be a little bit smoother compared to a V-bar style or square link. In this case, they are low carbon steel which might not be a terrible thing because all of these connection points can be breakable if it gets cold but they're not gonna last you as long and they're not gonna be as rust or weatherproof as a manganese nickel alloy might be. The chains do come with these built-in cam tighteners which help keep things nice and secure and overall, the installation of them wasn't too bad. more

These are going to be a pretty aggressive tire chain and the Toyota Manual does say that you probably shouldn't be using chains on the car, but if you're in a state like Colorado and chains are legally required, these might be for you. So, we're gonna show you how they work, anyway. These chains are a ladder pattern, which means that they go straight across the tire compared to your diamond pattern style chains. They'll give you a greater grip on starting and stopping. more

These are gonna be pretty aggressive tire chains, they're definitely not for your typical use. The v-bar style is going to be better at digging into ice and deeper snow, so keep that in mind as we go forward. As I mentioned, these v-bars are on each link as it goes across. These are gonna be a good option if you want a little bit of an in between between aggressive and low-profile with the twist links. So as far as their build, they are going to be a ladder pattern style chain, which means they're gonna go straight across the tire rather than diamond style. It's gonna help you get started and stop easier, gonna give you more traction in that case, but it's gonna be a little bit of a bumpier ride normally, and the twist links, like I mentioned, are gonna smooth that out a little bit. The chains themselves are made of a low-carbon steel, which is probably a little bit of a good and bad thing in this case, 'cause there are a lot of touch points. more

Today we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install these Konig Assisted Tension Diamond Pattern Snow Tire Chains on our 2022 Toyota RAV4. I will start out by saying that per Toyota's manual, it does say not to put tire chains on this car. However, if you are in a state where tire chains are legally required, these might still be for you. Getting into the chains themselves, they are a diamond pattern style chain, which is gonna give you more coverage on the tire versus a ladder pattern. It's gonna make for a smoother ride and it's gonna give you better coverage turns. more

First thing I will say is that per Toyota's manual, they don't recommend using chains on these tires. It's 'cause there is a limited wheel well clearance. But if you're in a state that requires you to have chains, these might actually be a pretty good option for you because chains themselves don't make any contact with the back of your tire. There's nothing back there at all. more

Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains Installation - 2022 Toyota RAV4- Video

How's it going It's Ethan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install these Konig Self-Tensioning Diamond Pattern Tire Chains on our 2022 Toyota RAV4. The first thing I should talk about before we get too into it is that Toyota themselves do claim that you shouldn't use these tire chains on this vehicle, there are some clearance issues potentially, but if you're in a state that requires tire chains, these are probably gonna be one of the better options for you. 'Cause they are Class S compatible, which means they do work well with a limited wheel well clearance, these are gonna be a great option. Additionally, they are diamond pattern, which will give you more coverage on your tire, it's gonna make handling a little bit smoother, and it's gonna help you out with turns. If you get a little bit closer, you can see the links themselves are square links, so they're gonna have a little bit more bite into light snow and ice than a twisted link or some roller styles might have, but they're pretty small and they're pretty low profile relatively. more

With these chains, the install process is gonna be pretty straightforward. The middle of the chains are going to have an opening. This is where our tire's gonna sit and then the coded cable is going to be on the backside. When it's laid out like this, you wanna make sure that nothing's tangled up add also that this part that says Konig is face down because when we put that up on a tire, that'll be face up in the correct orientation. more
