Stromberg Carlson Tailgate Installation - 2011 Dodge Ram 2500

Speaker 1: Today on our 2011 Ram 2500, we'll be having a look at and installing the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series Fifth Wheel Tailgate with open design, part #VGD-10-100.Here's what our tailgate looks like installed. As you'll notice, our tailgate has an open design here in the middle. When we want to hook up to our Gooseneck or our fifth-wheel trailer, in most applications, we won't have to worry about lowering the tailgate anymore. The open design of our tailgate helps improve vision out of the back window, so when we're backing up our truck, we have increased safety to see what's behind us.You'll notice how nicely it follows the contours of our bed and the taillight on our truck. This gives us a factory-like appearance on our tailgate. Our tailgate features a vented design, which will allow airflow to pass through but yet still keep any materials that you have in your bed inside the truck. What's really nice about this tailgate compared to others on the market is that if you don't like the gloss-black color and you want it to match your truck, that's not a problem. more

Stromberg Carlson 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate Installation - 2011 Ram 2500

Speaker 1: Today on our 2011 Ram 2500, we'll be having a look at and installing the Stromberg Carlson 4000 Series Fifth Wheel Louvered Tailgate with Lock, part number VGD-10-4000.The open design of our tailgate improves visibility and allows us to easily hook up to our gooseneck or a fifth wheel trailer in most applications without having to lower the tailgate. Now, one of my favorite things about this tailgate is how nicely it follows the contours of the body on our truck. One great feature about this tailgate is that it is lockable to help prevent tampering and theft. Once you have it locked, you can't turn the handle and you can't open the tailgate anymore. To unlock our tailgate, we simply reinsert the key, turn it back counterclockwise, twist our handle, and opens right up.Now even though our tailgate has a plastic construction and is extremely lightweight, contrary to popular belief, it can support up to 100 pounds of weight, making this ideal if we have a long load and we need to lay some lumbar down back over our tailgate in order to get it home. One great feature about the plastic construction of our tailgate is that being plastic we don't have to worry about it rusting over the course of time. This will last us for many years down the road with a reliable and durable finish. more
